No front plates in Quebec 😁

It was interesting had me inspect the car on the second floor and then they took the car down in an elevator and installed the plate.

Can't wait until Sunday afternoon to get the car back all pretty. Had the car for an hour before I handed it over for detailing.

It's my first BMW. I think it will take me a month to figure out all the Gadgets

Interesting! I wish front plates were not mandated in Ontario.

When I picked up mine it was also on another floor and was taken to the elevator.

I have mine for just a bit over 3 weeks and still have lots of things to either learn or get used to. Also my first BMW/first premium car and I just love it.

Does anyone know if BMW Canada is ever going to update the Android connected app. It is by far the worst and I cant believe they wont update it here but it's available with pretty much most of the functionality in the states

I also would like to know that. The Connected App for Android here in Canada is a JOKE! I read some people suggesting downloading the US version of the app which works WAY better. I found a "safe" apk mirror site (maintained by the famous Android Police group/site) and tested on an Android simulator, and it seems to work as expected. I haven't installed yet on my phone because I'm always skeptical about any app not installed via Play Store. I'm hoping BMW Canada will fix that ***.

Didnt even know I could test it that way. If you end up installing would love to know how you did it as I wouldn't mind doing the same.

I highly doubt BMW Canada will update it...they dont seem to care too much it seems like

I read that Android Police is behind apkmirror.com and it's fairly safe. It seems they compare the APK signatures to the ones on the Play Store to check if it's the same APK (it can still be faked, but it's not easy at all). Besides, they manually upload and check APKs, so it can be seen as an extra security measure.

Anyway, I'm seriously considering installing that APK on the next few days not only because it worked nicely on the emulator, I WANT to access the 3D remote views from my car and be able to check the status of the doors, trunk lid and hood at any time using my Android device and not buying an used iPhone just to do all this that SHOULD be supported on the Canadian version of the BMW Connected app on Android. It's a shame that BMW Canada seems to give a f* for Canadian customers.

K so I just downloaded the app via apk and it worked. Logged in and it found my car based on my connected account and I was able to lock the doors. Haven't tried any of the other stuff but 3D view works but don't know how much of a use that is to be honest unless I am missing something.

Also not sure if it's the latest version of the android app it's from Oct 2018.

Cool! As far as I remember reading, it's the latest version. One way to confirm this is by just looking for the BMW connected app on the US version of the play store website. There you can see the latest release number and date.

About the remote 3D view it might be useful to remember where you parked or check if cars around yours are parked too close. I remember seeing a guy checking his car while it was on a detailer applying ceramic coating. It's not an extremely useful feature but a nice one to have.

It seems to me a reasonable good deal considering taxes are included. Did you get any driver assistance package?

Did anyone notice their rear exhausts. When it's cold do both smoke? Only the right one does for me. I find that odd.

It's because the left exhaust flap is closed. Pull the fuse to keep both open at all times.
