Feedback on Tire Selection - Georgia/Atlanta
I know the issue of all season vs. summer/winter sets has been beat to death in the forums, but I'm just curious what anyone in my area has done. Stock contis are about done (thank god) and I'm debating between going to the PS4 all seasons and sacrificing a bit of grip when it warms up, or just going with the PS4S's since we rarely get any snow here or long cold snaps.
Interested in hearing what any of you in the southeast/ATL area have done and if what you'd do next time... |

If you don't have to drive anywhere when you do occasionally get snow and your normal temps are in the mid 40s or higher...then I would just get the summers. The wear rate on the AS4 isn't impressive and if you don't need them for temp issues then may as well not even consider them.

I had my Conti 6s for 6000km and in very little rain, I would be sliding lol. I bought HRE wheels and went for PS4S. I went a bit too wide on the front (285 front 295 rear) and my god are they sticky.

Summers will do much better in the rain. If you're not often driving below 45f then do summers.
Make sure you grab the wider set of summer, 265 front 295 rear. It makes a huge improvement.

That’s my concern..the cold temps on Jan and Feb mornings. This is my daily so it’s not like I have another option when the temps drop.

I just bought PS4 all seasons, being installed this week. As a daily driver and temps in NJ that vary I felt it was the best option.
Given your geography I would almost stick with summers though |

Running Michelin "PS4S" 255Fr/295Rr Atlanta - Metro. Not planning on changing to All Seasons or Winters - just monitoring/maintaining correct PSI. Fingers crossed this will be a mild winter. Have another car with A/S tires should the weather dip significantly.

I know its not the same car, but on my g/fs Supra she went from Pilot Super Sports to PS All Seasons.
I find they are noticeably louder than the Super Sports. Are people finding the same here with the PSAS on the X3/4M? |
