My AW M40i arrived

The car landed last week, and I went to go check it out at my dealer's storage facility. It's loaded, minus the tow hitch, Driver's Assist Plus and Apple Car play. The interior is Mocha with the matte wood trim.

This car will become my fun & capable daily, alongside my F10 M5, which will remain the go-to choice as the freeway & stoplight felon.

For now, the car will sit at the facility until it can get a Ceramic Pro treatment - wheels, exterior, interior Piano-black surfaces and the clear LED/LCD display covers (instrument cluster, iDrive screen and HVAC display). We're hoping that we can minimize or skip any paint correction and other prep work.

With all this said, I can't wait to get her on the road

Also, ceramic pro on the piano black trim? That's a great idea and I didn't consider it before! I was hoping for an easy way to preserve the trim because it scratches if you even breathe on it...

Yeah, that glossy black trim will become a swirlmark magnet or scratched even if someone looks at it in a wrong way. IMO, it's easily a DIY project to treat the interior pieces.

Probably not Lexus smooth & similar to driving in Boston or Chicago

Most of NY isn't bad anymore, and I do my best to safely drive around any surprise road boo-boos.

I'm assuming the G01 M40i wheels are cast, which if true, creates a larger liability for rim damage. This, on top of the shorter sidewall, and the lovely RFT bump dampening...

In warmer seasons, I have 21's on my F10 and the ride quality is very, very good. However, suspension movement is sharper but not toothpopppin' bad.

Maybe I'll start to see more X3s on the road now. LOL So far, I've only seen two other X3s so far, and one of them just tonight. I have not see another m40i in the wild yet.
