Drain not really necessary; I put plastic sheet and stuffed towel under the area to catch the small amount of coolant that I lost when cooler was unbolted.

After gasket job completed I refilled expansion tank and ran bleed sequence.

Removed and cleaned the MAF and MAP sensors. Probably a waste of time, they were dry and spotless.

Meguirs #7 and a crap load of elbow grease on the Blackline trim. That was worth the time and effort, went from an oxidized rainbow colored mess to shiny and black again.

All that junk around the windows of course led to a thorough wash and wax. Ready for winter!

removed all 4 OEM runflat tires (Bridgestone) and replaced them with significantly cheaper 4 Yokohama standard tires, ride is much more smooth and responsive.

very curious on how this worked out for you? i always thought there was not a viable remote start solution for 2011 F25. Would you recommend it? how much did installation cost?

First I must say that mine is a 2014 so I'm not certain if that makes a difference. As far as how it goes, I like it...I like it. I went to an upscale car audio place (Audio Barn in Exeter, NH; they do a lot of custom work on cars and motorcycle. I had to sacrifice a key which was soldered into the car somewhere under the hood. With the convenience function disabled. I purchased another key to replace it. I got that programmed this evening. I'll try to given them a call to check exactly which remote starter they used with the DroneMobile system.

Also I'm pretty pleased with the blind spot warning system. I'll try to take a photo of the install and post it to this thread as well.

My recommendation is to call around. I had two quotes on the work and after visiting the first place I decided to go with the upscale installer. They both said they could do the work without issue.

New Start Button

I ordered the silver start/stop button from Kies Motorsports and installed it last night. Took about 45 seconds.

Generic device using microwave transmitters so no holes have to be drilled. Lights are placed at the base of the pillars. It works nicely. I'll try to post a picture.

Here's a picture of the blind spot light.

Err. Flakey iPhone and and app....

Here we are...

Since I didn't do the work I don't know exactly. From what I was told the rear bumper was removed and the microwave emitters/sensors were installed in side the bumper.

Here's a much less expensive alternative fix.

not OP but I also did and it indeed does work:

FEM_01 > LaMaster1 3073 > C_AFS_ENA = F025_enable
FEM_01 > LaMaster1 3073 > LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y = F025_mit_AFS

using bimmercode or esys

I have feature code 8S4 (Variable Light Decoding) on my windown sticker for my X3. Does this mean mine is already coded to do this? My headlights do the "reference run" sequence (move down, then back up) on startup.

I thought about doing this in the past, but I recall hearing the NA x3's don't have the physical shutter installed to avoid blinding everyone that is coming your way. The Euro spec cars do have a physical shutter that comes down to avoid blinding oncoming traffic.. I think.

Is this not the case? I'm just curious if you've had a friend drive at you or anything and whether or not it actually ended up blinding the oncoming car? It's been awhile since I've thought about this so maybe I'm totally off base!
