Nav Cross Street Texts
2024 M40i Nav System (U.S.)
The text captions on my instrument display show only the current street (which I know, or should know, already). Is there a way to show the upcoming cross street as a text caption? I know it's on the map itself as well as when using route guidance, but a text caption would be helpful during normal driving. My old Mercedes GLC provided this "at-a-glance" feature. |

On the older versions of iDrive there’s an indicator on the lower left of the map that shows which direction is NORTH and it allows you to adjust the range of the nav map (100ft/400ft/800ft/.5mile/2mile/25mile/50mile/etc). If you lower the range, then the nav map will display more roads…especially the cross roads.
Is this still available on your newer version? If yes, try reducing the range until you see the cross streets. You can see example below…if you have this feature, lower the range to see if you get the cross streets you’re looking for.

Just did a google search for a 2024 X3 for sale to see if there was a pic of the nav screen….I found some and it appears that the range selection is still there (its circled in yellow in the pics below). Again, if you lower the range you should eventually get cross street names to appear.

Thanks for the research. On mine, the shortened range does improve the cross street labels on the map itself, which is helpful, although the text box still displays the current road.
