Took 2kaccordcouope's advice straight from the manual and raised my pressure to a ridicously high 44psi front and 50psi rear to reach the speeds I desire. Made my 2 hour return trip on the freshly mapped engine and stretched its legs on the highway. Italian asphalt is not on par with a German autobahn, but I got her up to 230k with zero drifting issues. The scorpions will run in the winter when properly (over) inflated for speed. Surprisingly, off highway they weren't harsher on the bumps than before. I can live with this. Problem solved thanks.

Interesting. The tyre pressure screen on my car recommends 2.4 all round, but that manual suggests 2.3 front and 2.6 rear. More confusingly, the panel inside the car door frame recommends 2.3 all round for 3 adults and around 2.6 for 5 adults. My car is closer to 3.5 adults so maybe 2.4 is right. Car is currently sitting at 2.4 all round too. My car is never going to be above 100mph either. Last edited by Zero71; 12-04-2019 at 01:02 PM.. |

I'll drop the car off to be shipped to Dallas at the end of this month and retrieve it February/March to then road trip it to my new job in Maryland. I'm going to need to find a drag strip or private track up there to satisfy my need for speed from time to time.
