I heard back from MHD today. They have beta maps for the 2020 X3 M40i and asked if I'd like to use them. MHD said that the gains from our engine should be higher than before since turbo is larger (is it?) and other optimizations. Sound promising.

Hmmm interesting, are the turbo's larger on the MY2020 X3 M40i? I just assumed that BMW just increased the boost to generate the additional power. Would be sweet if its actually a larger turbo. I have my 2020 X3 M40i on order and hope to have it in the next few weeks.

I have never done one of these tunes on my past bimmers (135i and 340i) but I am thinking that I want to explore doing a tune on my new car. Have people had good experiences with Mission Performance in the past? Any major issues that caused issues with warranties/dealers?

Turbos are not larger, HPFP is better and doesn’t run out of fuel when running higher boost. Like the 2018-19 models.

Yes sir 2020 m40 new engine and spool confirmed I have been working with bootmod3 to read our engines. The turbo spool is different (can produce way more power)

When will it be available for B58TU. I've contacted them and am waiting for it to be available. Would like to be able to customize the burbles and pops.

I purchased a license from Bootmod3 and hooked my laptop up to it. The engine type that it is showing is B58-T0. Bootmod3 is currently working on the OTS maps for this but for the X5 40i. Not sure what this means for us since the X5 40i stock is only putting out 335HP.

So atm although you have purchased a license you haven't been able to remap your engine?

Correct. I was told that there were maps available, even though I specifically asked them if they were for the US 2020 X3 M40i. Their customer service is great and they gave me a refund. After speaking with the guy some more, he said he would have to load the maps to my account since they weren't official yet. I was cool with that until one of the bootmod3 tech replied to a comment I made in the facebook group saying that it was a closed beta and I won't be able to get the maps. I believe the guy from the post above is working with the bootmod3 tech that told me this. A lot of miscommunication though. We'll see what happens on Monday.

I've been talking with MHD as well. They actually have a G20 M340i in their shop and are working on maps for it. I'll know Monday if I'll be able to get my hands on it. The fact that they have the same engine in their shop gives me a bit more confidence in their product.

Until I get can my hands on something I'll continue to do my own research. I'm new to ECU flashing. I've used piggyback systems before but this is the first vehicle I've owned with such a large modding/tuning community. A lot of information to take in. Hopefully, I'll have an update from one of these companies on Monday.

Tune results stage 1 bootmod3 e30 BETA map

Best I ran was 3.3 but slope was high. I believe on a good day (weather) I can hook and do under 3.3

Still working with bootmod3 to finalize everything and push maps.

That's sick! Can't wait for Stage 2 E30 map to come out... did they say when they plan to push these out? This motor is going to be a beast! Not quite X3MC beast, but still stout AF!

Did you compare with launch control and no launch control. So many different opinions that LC makes the times actually slower.

I compared it numerous times and brake boosting is slower than LC. LC for it to be fast u can't hold boost for too long.

Thanks for sharing your data, Five35. Was the Dragy DA correct (sometimes it'll miscalculate)? What Octane? What wheels and tires? What was tire psi F/R? Rough weight estimate over/under Curb?

Will be interested in seeing formal 1/4 mile time slips if you get the chance.

I agree, I did brake boosting vs. LC and LC won for me each time.

I've ran numerous times and got consistent numbers of 3.3-3.4

Octane: e30
Tries: cont dws06
Psi: recommended bmw psi 34 front 36 back
Curb weight: 4277?
Quarter mile: 11.6

This is insane. You are basically matching the X3MC, which C/D ran at 3.3 as well.
