G01 X3 w/adaptive headlight (height adjustment)

So I recently got an oil change at my BMW dealer and I mentioned my headlights didn't quite line up. They said that's actually what they are supposed to do, but they'd double check they were correct. Got my car back afterwards, and they said they did make an adjustment. Drove the car at night the next day and now both headlights seem pointed MUCH lower. Like now they only illuminate maybe 20-40ft in front of the car. I don't really want to go back to have them fix it, but I will if I have to. In the meantime, anyone know where the adjustment is for the height? I was told by my SA it was a screw somewhere by the headlights.

Thanks!

Yeah it's super easy. There will be a white plastic screw hole near each headlight. You'll need a long Philips screw driver to turn the screw inside the hole. Counterclockwise raises the headlight.

Thanks! I did look around a bit, didn't quite see anything like that. I must be looking on the wrong part of the headlight. Is it behind or on top of? And is it relatively exposed?

Does this adjust the adaptive headlight height as well? I too find that the throw pattern could stand to be higher, especially on a downward grade with very little illumination of the road ahead.

I do believe that it’s normal for one headlight to project the beam “higher” than the other, depending on if you have a LHD or RHD vehicle.

rebooting this thread...anywhere there is instructions for doing this on the adaptive LEDs? I'm used to turning a white plastic screw hole with a large phillips on most cars I've owned but on the G01 I can't find the hole...maybe it can only be electronically adjusted?

Thank You!! That illustration isn’t for the adaptive LEDs but I did find the screw hole for the driver side deep down and far back…easy to miss without a light so you need a long phillips. The tricky one is the passenger side…the layout looks totally different and I can’t find the screw port anywhere.

Anyone with insight? Thanks ahead of time!
