I am very much impressed with the carbon fiber trim in the new X3 M40i. The quality is exceptional. The carbon fiber has an almost 3D appearance. I don't think I could ever see too much of this quality carbon fiber.

Enclosing pics (from iPhone). I prolly should have wiped down first. Being that images are processed by site, don't think it will matter much. Hope the pics can capture some of the effect shown in person.

Hey man, carbon Looks really good. Where did you buy all the carbon from ?
It was an option at time of order. I have it as well.

Try getting the part numbers from RealOEM and then ordering from your dealer?

Good idea, if one of you could send me a part code that would be highly appreciative.

Note that it is a) prohibitively expensive, and b) not nearly as plug-and-play as it used to be/is in other models. My understanding is that there is glue instead of tabs in door panels, etc.

Garage List
It's very strange that bmwusa has it for the xDrive w/ M Sport, but no longer for M40i.

Hoping the CF option becomes available again, current lease expires in April '21 and strongly considering ordering another M40i, and having the CF available would help convince me.

I agree completely ...it was the only thing preventing me from getting one and almost convinced me to get the x3m...

Just ordered a BMW X3 M40i. Carbon Fiber was NOT option-able by my sales guy. Bummer, but I'm happy with my alternate trim choice!

He needed to make a phone call

No alternate. I wanted, asked for, was denied, ran it up the food chain, and received CF.

When did you order the car? After they stopped offering cf on the m40?

Early or mid-November; CF had already been removed from the configurator. Like I said, phone calls from the dealer to people in the NA hierarchy was required. Getting what you want isn't a passive sport. I'm sure it didn't hurt this was new BMW #20+ for me.

I asked about changing my trim as well and was told this. That the trim is glued directly to the door panel.

As ridiculous as this sounds I haven’t pulled the trigger on the m40i because I can’t get the carbon fiber ...the best a dealer told me they could do was a carbon fiber wrap...no thanks .
