2012 x3 tow hitch on x4

I have a 2012 x3 with a trailer hitch. I am wondering if the trailer hitch would work on the x4 since both models are very similar. Does anyone know?

Coolesnce,

I heard from my dealer that the X3 hitch is not compatible with the X4. It will be a few months before an X4 hitch is available.
