I remember a salesperson told me he saw about 1:9 of 35i:28i for F25 X3. Since the price gap of M40i and 30i is bigger, maybe the ratio is more extreme for G01 X3 in real world. So far I have only seen one confirmed M40i on road. I also notice there are not as many posts in GLC or Q5 forum, although both models sell quite well. The great information in this forum is one of the reasons that I finally chose X3 over GLC, Q5 or XC60. |

Seems the picture is clear: 35i won't steal M40i sales, but would look attractive for many 30i buyers, which means it would be able to draw people from competitors that don't offer 6-cyl engines in this class.

N55 died due to emissions regulations, that's why the M2C has S55. There could never be a 35 model unless they rolled back regulations a few years ago.

There is a new review of X2 M35i. Unfortunately, this 'M35i' is based on a tuned 4-cylinder engine making a hair more than 300hp but not an inline 6... So a 6 cylinder engine being offered as a 35i again doesn't seem realistic...

The M40i is an AMAZING engine. However, I have the 30i and Flash Tuned it - Boom. Likely would have been in the same power range as a hypothetical 35i. I'm pushing 305HP/358TQ (give or take 10HP) right now. It's plenty fast and the non-M Suspension of the 30i still handles it perfectly (I also have the Dynamic Handling PKG).

the B58 is well worth any premium as others have echoed. I have an N63TU3 now and it's smooth but the B58 was better in that regard.
