For me this is a vehicle I am interested in. I will reserve judgment until I can actually see the production model and take a test drive. If I do like it, I will wait a year or two until a purchase giving BMW time to get any new model bugs worked out. I would be interested in the highest performing level which should be the Competition Package. This is a vehicle I would keep for at least eight to ten years. I however won't have a fit based on limited information or spy photos of what the vehicle may look like or available options.

Is no one saying anything about what looks like to be an 8k rpm redline?

Agreed. But then again, BMW has already come late to the party concerning this type of stuff. I don't expect them to be industry leading in that regard anytime soon. But I do think iDrive is the best.

Why don't you wait for the final product before running to Porsche?

8-10k? Dream on!
$85-95k easy (especially adding ZCP when available). Then the shitbag dealerships will add their premium and before you know it, the X3M will cost you more then the X5M

Looks way better than the outgoing one. I have an X3 M40i and it's not a great cluster by any means

The M RPM gauges generally have LED lights around the outer dial noting what RPMs are available after cold start. In the picture it's blurred out. I'd assume even after warm the LED lights will be orange around 7k and red or not available at or after 7.5k to 8k.

Yea that picture is less than inspiring but I will defer judgement until we see the final production version.

One of my favorite things about M cars is that they don't look that much different than a normal BMW to a casual onlooker. This is a great characteristic if you want to fly under the radar or not look too flashy. That being said, as an enthusiast I expect some additional aesthetic items that signal to the more astute person that you're driving a badass M vehicle. Hoping that's the case for the X3M...

Base prices for comparison in US dollars: Estimated prices are my opinion.

G01/F97
X3 30i - $43,000
X3 M40i - $54,650 / $67,650 equipped
X3M - @$66,650 / $79,650 equipped
X3M ZCP - @$71,650 / $84,650 equipped

G20/F80
330i - $42,250
M340i - $56,995 / $69,995 equipped
M3 - @$67,995 / $79,995 equipped
M3 ZCP - @$72,995 / $85,995 equipped

I think that the F80 will be slightly more expensive than the F97 when compared with simular options (obviously not including the "Pure" stripped down manual F80 that was recently announced)

No way a well / fully equipped X3M ZCP is going to approach $95,000. Where would that put the F80 ZCP? All IMO of course.

I'll wait for the official release but I'm looking forward to a nicely equipped X3M ZCP in 2020. Nardo Gray with Mugello Red interior.

So according the instrument cluster looks like the New M5 it seems like they will use these instruments for M’s? And then the other one like in new x5 and z4 etc they will use for their “regular” (non m cars)

Looks good.

The most interesting thing about this to me is the abandonment of the new styling cues found on sedans. Conjoined kidneys, and funky instrument cluster with the backward tach are both absent.

Is it too big? We're previous E83 owners and switch to an F15, not a huge difference.

Yes, they actually have an entire marketing plan for "Born in M-Town" so M models will have similar design cues and extras....

Max looks to be 500 RPM shy of the F80 M3, so we might be seeing red at the 7k mark, but I'll take it.
