TPMS retrofit
Hi experts
I have the RPA system and I would like to make a TPMS retrofit to see pressure and temperature of the tyres. I was wondering if the four sensors for the tyres is the only staff i need or should i get any ECU? Thanks in advance for your help |

Based on my quick read of those links, you'll need much more. Your current DWS/RPA system takes input from the ABS wheel speed sensors and does a comparison to determine if one is "low." It's actually measuring wheel revolutions per distance traveled and flagging an error if one goes beyond the tolerance.
The TPMS system has the sensors in the wheel to measure actual temperature and pressure. There are also receiving antennas at each wheel, cabling and RDC module to process the information. Finally, you'll need some way to interact with the system. Assuming you have a compatible head unit/iDrive system that should already be there. Finally there's the system coding you'll need to do. Obviously it's possible, but certainly not a simple change. |
