Yes I understand this warning.

Anyone found what that was?

I just changed both vanos solénoïd but same.

My problem is that I can' t floor first and second gear if don't want to blow that 15 amp fuse.

I can floor from 3 and any other gear till redline no problem

If I wot first or second I get instantly engine mal function warning, limp mode and no restart if I shut engine off with blown 15 amp fuse..

Anyone experience that?

Hello thanks for helping.

But I coded my car for having the flap always open, so flooring or not the car have normaly nothing to do with flaps.

And flap control doesn't appear on the list of the component shorted when fuse blow.

I presume what cause the 15 amp fuse to blow is protected by that same 15 amp fuse and is on the list of what stop working when it blow

When the fuse blow I have shorted to ground or B+ this:

Intake vanos
Exhaust vanos
Intake air mass sensor
Oil control valve
Intake camshaft
Exhaust camshaft
Diverter valve

So far I have replaced both vanos and intake air sensor (maf) no success

I unplugged oil control valve and give it a run, fuse blow....

I inspected all wiring , all good..

I have a new diverter valve that coming I will see and hope that fix

For now 30 amp fuse take care of the problem, car run strong with no hiccups

Your 30 amp fuse is potentially going to melt wiring. You can’t just up amperage 15 amps that’s how cars burn up. You either have a chafed wire or perhaps a failing module, please remove that fuse ASAP for your own safety

I upped the amp just for peace of mind time for me to found the issues.

All wire is good, i already have a brand new ivm module but I will put it on the car once electrical issues solved.

I will get the new diverter valve this week. In the mean time I didn't expose the car to the condition where the fuse will blow as floor the car in lower gear

Changing DV on your car won't be an easy job, I am X5 N55 Engine owner, and I know the difficulty in replacing that.
If you get a chance try my recommendation, I have no experience with coding so I don't know how it goes with current flow, but I recommend you removing the flap plug before changing DV.
Any ways, wishing you success. Please update the result and also list error codes now itself so that it will be helpful for others.

Hi everyone, replaced the dump valve yesterday and voila no more blow...

I confirm that changing the DV is not a easy job, you have to remove water pump and support..

But before to say victory I must admit Im runnig on 25amp fuse as I have already used all small one of my set of fuse..

Running 25amp,in the past and normally it blow after 2 wot .

Yesterday I doed a good 10 launch hard downshift all the thing I usual never do with my car and zero issue.

I will buy the 15 amp fuse and give it a go for be 100% sure.

About dv what I see is some oil inside the coil, the underside of the rubber membrane is oily.. the membrane itsef is good, no pinch, no hole but for un unknow reason I have oil that past trough and reach the electrical part.,

I will change fuse , report back , and dress the list of code ..,then hook the new ivm module

Guy's my apologies for not following up here, for some reason I do not get notified when post are made here, even though I am subscribed and it's my thread. Bigblack reached out via PM and we spoke.

I'm glad he was able to resolve his issue!

Here the list of code you get when that fuse blow:

102A01: hot film mass meter, signal: electrical fault
120408: Charging pressure control :switch off as consequential reaction
122002: blow off valve, activation: short circuit to ground
130002: vanos solenoid valve, inlet, activation: short circuit to ground
130202: vanos solenoid valve, exhaust, activation: short circuit to ground
164020: intake, camshaft sensor, electric: short circuit to B+
164030: exhaust, camshaft sensor, electric: short circuit to B+
1B5302: supply, terminal 15N_2: short circuit to ground
1C0202: oil pressure controle valve, activation: short crcuit to ground

once again the engine will not start if shutted off, when fuse blow you get engine malfunction, limp mode, power reduce, you can reach your home.

huge smoke at exhaust pipe as oil contol valve is a normally open operation you are running 7 bar of oil pressure all time at idle you get a thick smoke like a blown turbo..

I didn't put back 15 amp fuse yet as Im at work . keep you updated

M4

Hi, just reading through your post and my m4 won’t start and the code coming up is: 164020 Intake camshaft sensor, electric: Short circuit to B+.
I have replaced the intake camshaft sensor, but the problem is still there and still won’t start.
Where is this 15amp located?
Many thanks
