Unhappy BMW emblem on tail gate coming off?

Hey,

Was putting some ski boots in the back of the vehicle when I noticed there seemed to be a small gap at the top of the emblem. It wasn’t obviously loose (not that I know how it’s connected in the first place).

This normal? Have I just never noticed it before?
Ignore how dirty the vehicle is. With snow sorta melting in town you can’t get 10ft without your lights barely working cause they’re caked in dirt or the vehicle changing colours.

Mine is flush to the bodywork, not 100% sure but I think its only stuck on with double sided tape, the weather has probably got in behind and its lost a bit of adhesion, should be an easy fix..!

I thought the front & rear emblems had two rivets or pins, not 3m taped on. If it's the pins, just give it a whack see if it goes back in a bit...if it's taped on, presumably won't go in any further. Otherwise, just stop by the dealer I'm sure they'll fix it if it's in fact coming loose

They are hammered in with a rubber mallet. When you take a tour of the factory in South Carolina and watch them being built, the last thing done is pounding in the Roundel on the hood.

Just push it back in and see if it will stay. Almost looks like someone tried prying it off. It is just held in with two posts on the back of the emblem that go into two holes with what looks like little rubber grommets. It's really not hard to pop the emblems off or on...just takes something to help pry it up at first and then you can just pull them right off.

Try a sharp hit with a closed fist or a strike with a rubber mallet. Someone may have tried to pinch it and aborted.

Is that Phytonic Blue deep under there somewhere?
