Apparently I got a speeding ticket.....? need help

I know i usually dont post on here, im on E46Fanatics though, i thought to bring my problem here.....

So my currents girlfriend's step-dad is a cop, and ran my name through the system and it said i have a speeding ticket to my name. When she told me, I was super pissed and if my parents find out, I will no longer have a car, but heres the catch. I have never been pulled over in my life, so the only way they could have caught me was trough a camera of some sort, but here the other catch. The car is registered under my parents name, therefore if a camera was to catch the car, it would go back to my parents. So how is this possible.

Well I was going to follow my track record of posting nothing of value, but I'll provide a little information.

How is it possible? If 'her step-dad' verified that it was infact you that has a speeding ticket and not someone with the same name, then it isn't possible. If you've never been pulled over and the car is registered under your parents name there isn't any reason for you to have a speeding ticket in the database. Either he didn't verify that it was in fact you, or your not mentioning part of this riveting tale. I'd handle this like an adult, and call the municipal court that the ticket is in and ask them for more information, before coming to a car forum with the question.

The database that your girlfriend's step-dad consulted contains more than just names. It should have driver'slicense information, car registration information, date and time of infraction, etc. Did you ask him to check all those things to make sure it was really you?

OP.. follow the trail of logic. If the car isn't registered in your name and you were never actually pulled over. How would your name be in the system with a camera ticket?
You must be 15-18 years old. SO I will blame a lot of your ignorance on your youth. So here is what is going on. Either your girls dad is playing games with you. Or there is someone with a similar name with a ticket.

Either way. You are fine.

Serious OP, if it was a camera ticket your parents would have got the ticket in the mail with their name on it. With a picture of your car doing it, so you would have known if you had it from them grounding you and taking your car.

Plus those cameras don't pick up speeding, and you are wanting to go Ivy league and can't figure this out

Since we're being super super serial, why did OP not just call the court and ask the question, before coming onto a forum and saying if he doesn't figure this out his parents are going to take their car back.
