BMW X3 20D MSport LCI - Advice
Afternoon folks,
Hope everyone is keeping well and safe? First time poster but long browser here. I have recently decided look at buying a new BMW X3 20D MSport (LCI). Had a few quotes from dealers (tried all of the usual online brokers, TRL, Bimmerdeals etc) but the cheapest I have been offered is: £43,220.30 (Purchase price £47,360.02) £3,000 Deposit £40,220.30 Credit £3,476.73 Interest £43,697.03 Payable £46,697.03 Total amount payable GFV £20,197.50 APR 2.9% £499 Month 48 months 8k miles per annum Extras Include Comfort Plus Pack (No passenger lumbar or digital key) No mention of comfort access being affected as yet Colour is standard white. I just wanted to gather your experienced thoughts to understand if you think the above is a fair deal all things considered, options, monthly cost, deposit and extras etc. First time making such a large car purchase and as much research as I done, It would be nice to get the opinion of like minded BMW enthusiasts who have experience in dealing with PCP / Dealerships. Thank you very much in advance! |

About 8.7% discount which isn't bad, and I don't know if anyone will be offering 11% off an LCI at this point. If anyone knows of a UK dealer who is, let me know order to place !)
The finance looks to be standard BMW Q2 Select Campaign 2.9%. Did you get the best deal via a broker or dealer direct, as I'm looking for a similar X3 with a few more bits. |

This is what I’ve been quoted today from my local main dealer after the collapse of my M40d order which is all explained in another thread.
X3 M20i LCI Phytonic blue or Brooklyn Grey, I haven’t decided yet Black with Blue stitching Vernasca leather Aluminium Rhombicle with Pearl Chrome M sport pro pack Comfort plus pack Pano roof Configurator shows a cash price of £51,745.00 (a) Cash price (inc. VAT). £45,663.00 (b) Less Initial Rentals / deposit. £9,122.17 (c) Balance of cash price/amount of credit. £36,540.83 (d) Add Interest Charges. £3,148.87 (e) Option to Purchase Fee (£0.00) payable with Final Rental (inc. VAT). £0 (f) Total Charge for Credit (d) + (e). £3,148.87 (g) Balance Payable (c) + (f). £39,689.70 (h) Total Amount Payable (b) + (g). £48,811.87 The balance shown at (g) above is payable by: 47 Monthly Rentals. 2.9% £457.79 Followed by the Optional Final Rental of total £18,173.57 and the Option to Purchase Fee of £0.00 That’s on 10,000 miles per year. My maths marks that a 11.75% discount. I wanted Driving assistance pro but this is no longer an option on 20’s. So might wait until the option is back. It’s deleted due to parts shortages according to the dealer. Last edited by Shaun170; 06-18-2021 at 05:10 PM.. |

Whaaa thats pretty expensive.
In France, as a taxi driver been quoted on a M40d -17% discount as a demo vehicule meaning 1 month at the dealer with a max of 1.000 kms or 620 miles. Interest rate at my bank 1.1%/year 48 months loan. +1 year warranty or 200.000kms whichever comes first - 380 euros 3 years/200.000 maintenance + parts all inclusive except tires - 3800 euros however don't really know how financing works in the UK or US so would be nice if someone can educate me a little further... |

I also want Driver Assistant Pro, just not convinced BMW will ever offer the option on the lower cars before a brand new model gets released. Last edited by avi66; 06-19-2021 at 01:56 AM.. |

I have a 2018 mini coopers s on PCP with the same dealer. It has about £18k left on the PCP. They only offered me £15k for it. At first they were wanting to take the difference out of my deposit but I said no, stuck to my guns and said I wanted out at no cost to me. I never put a deposit on that deal with the mini in the first place so it would have been like putting a £3k deposit on the mini if that makes sense? And I didn’t want to do that. In the end they agreed to get me out at no cost to me. I’d been offered as little as £12k for the mini by Park Lane and £15k at Berry Croydon. So to get out at no cost I thought was ok. That was a list price car of around £33.5k which from memory I got for about £26ish. Late 2018 F56 LCI model with lots and lots of packs and extras. Just over 11k miles, mint condition and I was offered as low as £12k…….mad! |

20d list price with my chosen spec as before. £52,685.00 (a) Cash price (inc. VAT). £46,440.00 (b) Less Initial Rentals / deposit. £9,122.17 (c) Balance of cash price/amount of credit. £37,317.83 (d) Add Interest Charges. £3,310.02 (e) Option to Purchase Fee (£0.00) payable with Final Rental (inc. VAT). £0.00 (f) Total Charge for Credit (d) + (e). £3,310.02 (g) Balance Payable (c) + (f). £40,627.85 (h) Total Amount Payable (b) + (g). £49,750.02 The balance shown at (g) above is payable by: 47 Monthly Rentals. £433.67 Followed by the Optional Final Rental of £20,245.36 My shaky maths makes that an 11.85% discount on list price? That’s on 2.9% finance again and they are writing off £3k negative equity on my Mini PCP. Saying that, I’ve looked and very very similar used Minis but slightly not as well spec’d as mine are on the Mini used car locator for around £21k. They’ll be able to make money back on it so I don’t feel too sad for them! |

I'd be really interested in that deal, as my deposit is similar and I've no PX. Can you put me in touch ? |

Seriously, get a quote on a 30d and compare to the 20d - you'll be surprised at them ! The increased residuals, and higher standard spec means in some circumstances it can be cheaper than a 20d monthly

The PPC GFV % was also similar and didn't offset the increased purchase price. |

Have you seen any Brooklyn Grey cars in the flesh?
I regularly park next to a Phytonic Blue/Cognac X3 and its look smart, but her indoors doesn't Cognac, which doesn't appear to be an option on M Sport models anymore. |

I’ve seen the colour swatch at the dealers for the grey but it’s far to small to make a decision for what is potentially a £50k plus car! It wasn’t as metallic as I thought it would be, quite flat but obviously not flat. It had, I think a very pale blue tinge to it. There are plenty of M4 videos on YouTube in they grey which give a better colour sample and it looks paler than the configurator. it looks nice on the M4 but would it suit the X3? I had an X3 loan car in white with the black trim which I thought was really smart, just couldn’t live with a white car, one trip and it’s dirty. So I’m hoping the grey would look good too. Then there’s the calipers to consider. I think blue looks better with the grey and red look better with the blue! Cognac is no longer available as an option. I was going with black and blue stitching which will match the sensatec dash and door card tops. Just spoken to BMW UK this morning and they have no dates for Driving Assistance Pro to be reinstated on the X20’s |

I sat in 2021 X3 Sophisto/Black leather daily driver outside the showroom on a sunny day, and to be honest, it just didn't do it for me. Like you say lighting and detailing make a world of difference. I'm liking the red calipers with Alpine or Sap Back since they £0 rather than a £300 option. Also thinking about the black 699 wheel option, as not seen the 787 in the wild. Pity we can try all the combinations for a short while to see what best to live with. Would really like to see an X3 in Brooklyn Grey in the flesh. |

I am too considering a new fully loaded LCI X3 in M40d trim after my order for a fully loaded X5 3.0d M-Sport had to be cancelled due to Harmon Kardon deletion.
It appears the specification I am considering is pretty much 'shortage' free for now other than the wireless charging option which I am not too bothered about. However, I have noticed on some option choices on the UK configurator that there appears to be a M40i/d M Pro Edition which is not indicated on the configurator. Anyone have any details? I am also in discussion with my dealer as there is some confusion and discrepancy regarding the M Sport Seat option which although allows the selection of lumbar support for both driver and passenger the Seat Width Adjustment option is not available! Can anyone confirm if the M Sport Seats had the seat width adjustment in the pre LCI model? If it has been removed clearly another option delete due to the semi conductor shortage. As a 'well nourished' driver both the lumbar and seat width adjustment are important options I want due to previous cervical and lumbar spine surgery. Last but not least is the paint options. Not much to choose from which is disappointing but I have been leaning to either Brooklyn Grey Metallic or Alpine White choices along with blue calipers which contrast the paint and interior colour schemes. If only Black leather seats with black stitching were available I would choose the red calipers. Although there are images of the LCI X4 in Brooklyn Grey, like others I would like to see the X3 in Brooklyn Grey so as to make my mind up. Alpine White does look nice though! All the best with your choices |

When I ordered the M40d in April passenger side lumber support was deleted due to parts shortage the same as it was on the 20’s
