Hello so we picked up the 2020 X3 October 2019. I was told it did not have the ambient lighting.

Does it need to be retrofitted by the dealer or does it just need to be hooked up/coded by the dealer(assuming the ambient lighting is already in the car)? How much do you think it would cost to do this? I imagine its not cheap since I think its part of the executive package?

It's not just simple coding. A completely different type of lighting needs to be installed in the vehicle. It may even require different wire harnesses because ambient lighting needs to be able to independently control the red, green, and blue LEDs.

Not to mention different trim panels and door panels to accommodate the ambient light strips. Not a retrofit option with any kind of reasonable price.
