Hola,

Just brief introduction.
Quite familiar with BMW's. My garage already includes E39 M5 (which I have owned since 07/2009) and F48 X20i (which bought totally new and received it in 12/2017). We have had E34 525iA Touring, E90 318i, E39 528i in the house previously.

Now I just bought used, but new for me, G01 M40i.
Ok, I paid it already, but going to pick it up from Hamburg, Germany next week. So once again some Autobahns are waiting
Car is coming from BMW Niederlassung Hamburg and they have checked the condition etc. which should be really good overall. Also I did get 2 year guarantee to it with no mileage limits.
And after couple nights in Hamburg area, I will take the ship back to Finland. Damn Covid is messing the plans, as original idea was to drive back via Denmark and Sweden. But the boats from Sweden are not moving in regular basis like in normal times.

First registration 11/2018, mileage 33993km. One owner, full service history and quite impressive option list I would say.

That color combination and merino interior are fantastic. I wish we could've gotten the option for that leather in the US.

I don't know about the Euro models but my 2018 M40i had an extremely aggressive exhaust with really loud crackles and bangs. The newer ones don't do that.

Does someone found full option list for M40i to 2018/2019 models?

About 4 months/6000km of ownership behind and M40i has been running just perfect
TV was causing issues, but after around 10th coding did do the trick. Seems that this is quite common problem and like now, the real solution did not found. Just coded it off/on from the car and as said, one time it started to work.
Also same time all other modules were updated.

Just swapped kidneys and side vents from cerium to oem gloss black ones. M-look mirror covers are good quality aftermarket ones from Schmiedmann.
Still wondering what to do with the boomerangs. Cerium, gloss black or perhaps to paint for body color... ?!

And for winter I bought oem Style 698M rims. All corners 7.5x19 ET32.
Winter Tires are stutless Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV 245/50/19 105R XL.

Also M5 did went to wintersleep almost 2 months ago... I think earliest time ever

You would be surprised to find out how much of that sound is piped in. Pull fuse #29 I believe, to see.

Just ordered OEM ///M-Performance Rear Spoiler (P/N 51-19-2-464-329) and installation glue for it (P/N 83-19-5-A32-6D0)

And at the same time after market Maxton Front Lip





Both were out of stock, but no rush, installation will be done after snow melts... So 2-3 months to go

Front Lip installation instructions says following; "You need to use poliethylene glue if the gap between spolitter's edge adjoining bumper and drilled hole is more than 3cm."
Whatta heck is poliethylene glue? Should that Rear Spoiler glue do the trick for this too?

Finally today front lip and rear spoiler installed...

Will try to get better pics tomorrow as I left the car to my friend workshop for night that rear spoiler glue is settled.

Struggling a bit with that white big M Performance text... maybe I wrap it out...

Oh, and ordered High Gloss boomerangs too. Then all cerium parts are gone.

Yep, I think all Euro models did get like since the beginning. But there was some shortage of something, why US cars did not have it
Also my car is 10/2018, technically already 2019 model.

There is just normal spray paint cans which are High Gloss Black in regular hardware stores, if I can find it over here, I bet you can find it also in your location
Also I think it would be good to spray some clear coat top of it.

I did do the paint job, but I did fuck up the spring
And spring cannot be bought separately, have to buy whole wiper arm and do everything again

I think I have to still remove passenger side and do it again, I did it first but feels that drivers side did fit much better.
Also scoop was a bit PITA as I have my Maxton lip.

Did pull the trigger and bought Bootmod3

Just installed it and did only few km test drive, but already noticed real difference
Later today more testing.
