TPM malfunction: Drive moderately
2012 X3 F25 28i
I replaced all four TPM sensors in 2021 - been working fine ever since. :-) Got the error message "TPM malfunction: Drive moderately" a while back - been reseting the TPM every time I drive these past few weeks - both long and short trips. No joy. Tested the sensors with my Autel Maxi TPMS TS508WF scanner. Three of the four sensors are OK with the Left Rear being dead (scanned it three times). I validaed my scanner is functional as it can properly scan a set of (4) new sensors. I understand there's a TPM antenna receiver behind the right rear tire that may have sustained some corrision over time ? If the entire TPM system was functional, I'd expect it to tell me the Left Rear sensor is dead. Any thoughts guys ? |

I have same year/model car; as I recall I had one wheel sensor go kaput couple years ago and and the specific wheel was identified on the iDrive display. You might need to scan the car for fault codes, that's one thought.
Attached PDF I pulled from the BMW TIS (Technical Information Systems), may be of interest. Good luck/Bill Last edited by Wgosma; 08-04-2023 at 08:10 PM.. |
