If you're referring to BimmerCode…then yes, you have to buy the app if you want to use it for coding. The free download is just a demo to give you an idea of how it works…but the free demo will not do any coding.

Bumping this thread to see if anyone has been able to definitively turn off ASD using BimmerCode on IOS? As previously noted in post #36, there still isn't an option to search for activation codes. I just want to get rid of the fake engine noise as the transmission thump/farts don't really bother me and I don't really hear any burbles. Kinda wish I bought BimmerCode on my Android phone instead of iPhone since you can't transfer or share licenses between the two ecosystems.

Hmm there seems to be disagreement on whether or not just disabling Active Sound Design or doing it in conjunction with the Activation Code (only visible in the Android app) will fully deactivate ASD. I tried just the plain Active Sound Design setting but ASD is clearly still on as I can still hear the trans farts on my '22 LCI.

I used Bimmercode to disable ASD a couple of weeks ago, and the in-cabin sound is decidedly different… feels much more like a hollow resonated body vibration from the cargo area… as opposed to the well- defined (and super consistent) burble or fart right under my seat.
I think it worked for me…. timbre and origin of any sounds are now the same whether eco or sport… just waaay louder in sport. ?? |

Anybody recently do this with an iOS device and a 22+ car? Waiting on Amazon to deliver my ENET cable today so I can try this...

I'm in the same boat. '23 X3M on iOS using ENET. Last email exchange I had with the developer back on Jan 16, he indicated that "for newer cars you would have to disable the ASD activation code. This can be done with the current Android version of the app or the latest iOS beta release." I may ping him again to see if the beta is still necessary or if this has been pushed out via update to stable release.
