Yeah - that decision for sure bit them in the ass huh?

Out of interest - what is normal operational capacity?

Picked it up yesterday and my car actually came with adjustable lumbar support even though the dealer told me it wouldn't be available and they gave me a minor discount!

I don't recall if the 2 seats I compared initially looked any different....pretty sure they were both sport seats.

Good job!!! Now to get those lumbar support buttons that compress air into strange places to actually work for you ;-)

I'm done with that battle.

Wow did you need to authorize the change to remove the lumbar support? I got a new order detail page mentioning the change afterwards.. have to wait unti end of May to find out what they really did!

Yeah, it did kinda bite them in ass but it worked out for everyone kinda.

So the fab I work at puts out ~1000 12" wafers a day and that maxed out. If we had no down tools, maybe ~1100 wafers a day but that's in a perfect world. So a wafer is what actually has the "chip", so there could be anywhere from 1,000-100,000+ chips, just dependson the chip size.

Does your company slice the silicon yourself, or do they arrive as pre-cut wafers? Also curious what transistor size y'all do.

Made in the US of A? NICE JOB!! Perhaps the world may come to realise the bean counters' decisions to outsource predominantly to one region for cost cutting is all the eggs in fewer baskets perhaps.

When I placed my order I was told that there was an issue with lumbar adjustment part availability and it would be a long delay if I wanted it. Per my earlier post, I asked to check out seats with and without the adjustable lumbar. I didn't mind the lack of it so I proceeded with my order and they gave a small discount. But then the car arrived with adjustable lumbar anyway so it's all good!

I put money down yesterday on a build, and the dealer contacted me today to advise of the lumbar support, and passenger bolster adjustment not being available. I don't find these seats to be the most comfortable, and feel I'll need as much adjustment options as possible to make the seats work for me. In my opinion the discount they offer doesn't really compare to what you're potentially giving up. I could chance it, and hope I get lucky like others who got it, but I think I'll have to put the M40i on hold until I get more reassurance the parts delay is over. Just my luck, the seats will be good to go, but they'll run out of something else.
Very frustrating as I was feeling really good about the deal I was getting.

I asked to sit in a seat with and without the lumbar and honestly barely noticed any difference. I've had it on other cars and it's one of those things I touch once when it's new and then never mess with. The seat without adjustable lumbar felt fine so I went ahead a placed my order with the minor price discount.

However, I just checked my BMW tracker order form and lumbar support is listed on it still. Curious how the car will arrive. Will keep you guys updated.
Not to throw shade at the dealer, but mine advised that the Performance Center Delivery was no longer available. Yet here I am, flying out to Greer, SC, on April 5th.
You will have a blast at PCD. I just came back from there and definitely enjoyed myself.

Mine just arrived today with the passenger lumbar removed from the build. Picking it up Saturday 4-3. Dealer threw in all weather floor and cargo mats for compensation, besides the $275.00 credit.

why are you buying a car that you think is uncomfortable in the first place ? even with the lumbar supports ? lots of choices out there. for your whole ownership you will always have in the back of your mind " i'm so uncomfortable in these seats". well you will now

+1 on the comment to why you'd be looking to purchase a car where you feel as though the seats aren't that comfortable to begin with.

However, I don't really have much room to comment as I'm throwing caution to the wind and have ordered a G80 M3 with the carbon bucket seats without having ever sat in them yet.

I said I didn't find these seats to be the most comfortable. Which looking through these forums others would say they aren't the best seats and they aren't the worst. The M40i meets my needs and budget. I narrowed my choices between an Sq5 and the M40i. Sq5 wins on interior, but loses out on excitement and driveability for me. I'm willing to compromise for seats I don't find to be the most comfortable for a vehicle I'll enjoy driving.

The SQ5 smells better and sounds better (audio). For everything else I prefer the M40i.

Wife’s new M40i

My wife picked up her new X3 yesterday. She’s in love. The driver’s side came with lumbar support and bolsters which was good.

Two things I heard yesterday.
First was that with the current shortage I was lucky to get the incentives I did. Right now $1500 off would be good.
Second was they had to contact 2 people with X3’s on order that the Harmon Kardon stereo was deleted from their orders due to parts shortage. That would have been a deal breaker for us.

Agreed. I can live without the passenger side lumbar and bolster delete since I mostly drive alone. My wife will only drive her X5 because of the cloud like air suspension, so she’s happy with hers and I am happy with mine!
