Yeah it is. Acidic bird poop, hot sun, and paint don't mix well. Left on long enough and it will start to eat through the clear coat.

This is from today luckily on my windshield, the others were twice the amount but on my hood 😆

Birds are no different to us humans, when you have to go, you have to go!
The only real difference is that we sometimes make it back to the toilet before deploying said poop

the parking brake can be also retracted to maintenance position with a power probe.
before removing any bolts disconnect the plug. connect power probe energize the motor. if the parking brake applies reverse the polarity and re energize.
the brake will be in maintenance position after about 15 seconds. brakes can then be serviced. once everything is back together set pads with the brake pedal and then just apply the parking brake like usual.
that is a work around for no scan tool or other normal means to put the calipers in maintenance position. you will also need to reset pad life.

Did a ride with my dad and a close friend who came to visit on their Harleys… and me in the X3. Went up to Caesar’s Head, over to Brevard NC, then up to Looking Glass Falls, then up on the Blue Ridge Parkway and then back in reverse.

Lovely, but why were you in a Bimmer instead of on a Beemer?

My propensity to crash into things while on two wheels is well established. Adding an internal combustion engine to the formula would be deadly.

Just saw my first G45. Unfortunately it was so wrapped up I couldn’t tell you much more than it looked bigger and the headlight DRLs were shaped like Ls.

That’s a good reason.

After reading the first sentence, my first thought was: sign up for an MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) course.

After reading the second sentence? Your choice of car is excellent.

I haven't looked at the X3, but my F10 550 has an E-Brake with a manual method for releasing the pistons. I think it takes an E-Torx bolt after removing the actuator. Shouldn't the G01 have that too?

The pad life reset is used only when the sensor has been initiated , no ?

the pad life reset should be done after changing pads
it's a calculated number based on mileage it's not the actual sensor on the pads
