It might not be as "humpy" from the rear as the standard load floor in the X4 is lower than the hatch opening.

I saw a MY19 X4 today with the spare tire. The floor is not raised / no bump. It was flush.
I am interested in seeing a 2019 w/o the spare tire. I hope there is a recess/ bump to keep groceries/ junk from rolling out when you open the hatch. Last edited by arciga18; 09-02-2018 at 07:35 AM.. Reason: spelling |

I have a video that I asked a local dealership to take ( Thank you bmw genius):
2019 x4 30i. No spare option on this build. The new x4 does have a 3-3.5" tall bumper that will keep stuff from easily rolling out. I love it . Im ready to move on from the g01. Here are a couple screen shots Last edited by arciga18; 09-04-2018 at 07:08 PM.. |

I had the same questions before I pulled the trigger on a 2019 X4 M40i. I had emailed BMW Genius and this is what they replied (after a day's worth of research):
"We can confirm that when the 2019 BMW X4 M40i is equipped with the Space Saver Spare option, the cargo area is altered. The cargo floor is raised by approximately 4 inches to allow for the spare tire to be completely stored under the cargo floor. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause." They also attached this photo: Based on their answer, I said no thanks to the spare. |

If you see my posts regarding the spare option, I showed that without the Spare, the floor is a few inches lower and creates a mini ridge to keep stuff from rolling out. The genius gave you poor information. |

I apologize to X4guy and arciga18! I attached the wrong photo. My memory was bad. I didn't get the photo from the Genius; I must have downloaded it from a web page. I checked with the Genius again and they said: "If you use the Build Your Own tool and click the text "Space Saver Spare" on the 2019 BMW X4, you can view the trunk compartment." If tried it and was able to see the correct picture.

As mentioned before , x4 is Spare tire has a floor that is flush. It is not raised and there is no hump. I found that a good strategy is to contact the bmw genius of a closeby dealer or a dealer that has what you are looking for and ask them to send you pictures. The bmw genius will not try to sell you a car. I was upfront with them and said, " I don't want to talk to sales yet. I'm still doing research". |
