LCI Facelift Conversion - 2013 > LCI

I bought a 2013 F25 XDrive 35i - Got a great deal on it, super low miles, mint condition... Personally, I was not a fan of the front end design from the start. However, I love the look of the LCI facelift version, and intend on doing a full front end conversion.

Already have:
LCI M Sport Front Bumper + All Grills
Black Kidney Grills
LCI Adaptive LED Headlights (Currently being custom retrofit/blacked out)

Do I need fenders and a hood as well? Looking at them side by side in person, they appear to be identical (minus the hood scoop thing), but I haven't had the opportunity to take the bumper off and size things up.

I was waiting for someone to do this...

I tried taking my headlights apart the other day but realized that headlights are permanently sealed and no heat melts the glue to separate them. I wanted to black them out and also do clear lens swap but could not open them...

Can you ask how they are getting your headlights open to black them out?

Appreciate the help..

on the side note, looks like realoem lists same part number for the fender and hood from 2009 to 2016 vehicles. My guess the fenders and hood are the same for non LCI and LCI...

Hmm, I'd love the LED headlight conversion, but I'm actually more of a fan of the pre LCI front bumper (M sport). Anyway, in terms of coding the lights, go have a few looks on the E70 X5 forum. A lot of guys with the X5M were retrofitting the LED headlights that came in the later years. It is not a cheap retrofit, but I imagine its possible.

Good luck and post pics along the way!

I'll have to snap some pics of the goodies I've collected thus far...

The headlights are being sent to a custom Retrofitter, who I've used in the past for a few of my cars:

i am looking to do a facelift conversion as well! i just checked, and can confirm that the hood and side fenders can be reused. in fact the fog lights are also the same.

BTW to remove the front lens, you need to use a heat gun to melt the silicone glue. Not for the faint of heart.

I did it with my car and now it looks great. One issue that I have is a headlight it only works lower beam. turning lights does not work also the anger eyes. I took it to the dealer they tried to do something but nothing worked. They say that I have to add new modules because pre LCI does not have this extra modules in it. Can anybody help? I also consulted with the guy that does xenon lights and he said something can be done however he is not sure 100%.

Upgraded to the LCI

Here are the pics how it looks like right now. Again changed bumper, grills and headlights. Bumper should be fully equipped and one important note, when you buy second hand bumper make sure that inside plastic parts those that hold the fog lights are there. You cannot buy them separatly like for the pre-LCI model.

Diagram from Pre_LCI and LCI versions

Dear friends

Here are the headlight scheme for pre-LCI and LCI versions. Please let me know if any of you have information where these additional modules can be purchased.

First PDF with 4 pages is for LCI and the other pdf (1) is for the pre-LCI F25. I need these modules to make my LCI headlights in working condition. Can anybody help with it?

regards

Kote

you need replace black trim on fender. im not sure if you can reuse that or its different part.

Msport all trims are same color as body: side skirt, wheel arch on fender.

Rear bumper is different as well, and you will need rear diffuser that goes on lower part of the bumper

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like a lot of work and $$$$$$$$$ for such a small payoff. Why not just trade your 2013 for a 2014? The price difference will most likely be the same as the retrofit cost.

The dealer sells the FRM, costs about £300 for most BMWs.

Have you tried coding the FRM In your car already?
I would have thought a car this late would have the correct FRM anyway?

BMW local dealers tried to code FRM but nothing works and they discovered that LCI xenon wiring has similar FRM like Pre LCI, two additional things that exist in LCI are the two settled resistances R2 and they are connected directly with the headlights with K_CAN3_H 0.35 GE/WS. Each headlight has its own settled resistance module.

If anyone would like to upgrade standard to M-sport Pre-LCI bumper and retain original wheel arches, let me know, I designed trim extensions which i use on my car to fill the gap left by reusing the original rear wheel arches.

Sucess on a BMW 2013M full facelift (to 2017)

Hi fellows, I´m Engel from BRazil... I Have a BMW X3 M 2013 (F25) and I was able to make the complete Facelift Conversion for the BMW x3 2017 M. I Had to buy an used front bumper (X3 2017) with the set of grills (the 2 main grills, and the set of the 4 black auxiliar grills) ,and the fog lights, Headlight Washer Nozzle, Headlight Washer Jet Nozzle Cover Caps). The 2 front parking sensor will need and adapter because the hole of the new bumper is a little wider. The big problem was the headlights, because the wiring and the modules are all diferent. The solutions 0 I find i guy here in Brazil that was able to get my 2 2013 front headlights, disassemble it and adapt (insert) all the componets into 2 2017 headlights that I bought. Doing this, all the wiring remain the same and there were no error codes.I´mm try to posto some pictures of the job. If you need the contact of this guy, I can give you the contact of this guy.

Hello Engel, referring to the last picture "after conversion" is this your car? If so it looks amazing!!! On the pictures where you're testing the lights the rings look round like the old ones rather than the more square shaped new rings (drl) However it could be just the funny angle they are on in the pictures that's why I'm curious if the guy who did your headlights kept the original LCI angel eyes rings or did he swapped them as well with the pre-LCI ones?

Hi there, I am doing the front end upgrade to an LCI M-Sport one however I don't wanna bother with the rest of the body parts e.s. so can you please advice how to fill the gaps between the original pre-LCI front fender arches and the new m-sport front bumper. Since you've done it with the rears I figured you might have an idea. Any help is greatly appreciated!

….changed my mind... I'm going the whole 9 yard i.e. full M-sport body kit purchased
