RIS--oil volume

About to go in for the run in service--anyone know if BMW have addressed the oil overfill issues that some have been faced with (changing refill volume to 6.5 versus 7L)? Looking to avoid this mess, if at all possible.

I'm nearing this service as well. Is this just engine and differential oil service or do they do the transmission fluid as well?

By any chance, did you notice what the fill volume was on the service invoice?

Why don't you get them to confirm when you bring it in?

My wife's X3MC had the 1200 mile Svc on 20 Jan 2020 and the invoice states:

Qty-Description as '2' - Screw Plugs with O-R, '1' - Hypoid Axle Oil G4, '1' - Set oil-filter elem, and '70' - 0W-30 Bulk oil. The '70' isn't a typo.

Yep--was planning on it, just trying to get a few more data points around what is being done, and if the earlier issues were outliers. Trying not to be "that guy" at the dealership proffering message board guidance to the service department...

It's your car and you paid a lot of money for it. I wouldn't worry about looking like "that guy" as dealers walk all over the uninformed. I'm going to inquire myself as I'm not big on making multiple trips to the dealer if I can avoid it.

mine says 7L. but that doesn't mean they put it all in. I am still figuring out the electronic dipstick but I have no overfill messages.

I just checked a VIN Number of en X4M in a VIN Decoder.
Engine Oil: 7 Liter
Gearbox: 9.35 (lifetime oil)

On bimmercat.com you can also find almost all part numbers of the car. So i think that should be reliable.
