VRSF 6.5 Competition FMIC fits

So decided I wanted to upgrade the fmic on my F25 N55 before I had the car tuned. Originally was going to just use the VRSF 5in FMIC, but I decided the 6.5in might fit with enough trimming. Was able to source one along with the brackets from VRSF and well..... it fits alright. Install is extremely straightforward, same as the 5in. plastic shroud needs cut regardless, but as you can see in the pictures there is just barely any gap left once you trim.

sorry for the salt, ohio winters suck haha.

Flashed stage 2+ 93oct. with some logs below. The 6.5 does a pretty great job.

so VRSF supplied brackets?

I read other users who had to get creative and fabricate their own brackets

Ambient temp was 40F. These are the second generation brackets from VRSF, I also had the first gen from them as well. I am sure most of these brackets will look the same or close to it since there isn't much else you can do in the little area you have for them.

Not sure since I don't have one, but if the piping is the same as the N55 and if the 5"HD fits it then i don't see why not.

No increase in lag from what I can see on my logs. Honestly with how small the pwg turbo is, lag shouldn't be an issue regardless.

If there is more volume it takes longer to fill up and build full boost. M2 and f30 n55 guys reported some issues with lag increasing when changing to larger intercoolers (depending on brand) but good to hear you aren’t noticing it.

There's no increased lag or transient response between the 5" Performance FMIC and the 6.5" Competition HD. The largest 6.5" Race FMIC has a touch of lag over the 5" but it's only noticeable on paper.

I'm about to fit the race FMIC for N55's. Seems like it's the same amount of trimming as the 6.5" and excited to see results.

Yep, Race FMIC fits our chassis. It's snug and sits right up against the bottom of the radiator, but no dangers there. Top stepped portion has plenty of room and even gets airflow from the middle bumper grill.

Most of the plastic shroud on the bottom has to be cut, and the usual aluminum brackets work fine.
