If you change your own oil just put in as much as you took out. It's not rocket science to measure how much drained out. Put that exact amount back in. Done. Perfect. Have nice day. No need to debate about it.

OP didn't work on it at home, which is why he has no idea if it was changed or not. Dipsticks can allow moisture into the oil. Not having a dipstick means it cannot leak moisture into the oil. Never would they consider "well maybe someone wants to know if the oil was actually changed". You can open the filter and check anyways if you were really concerned.

No dipstick on the newer BMW's!!! It's actually displayed in the iDrive infotainment system menu, look it up under vehicle status or check the owners manual for detailed instructions.
I too would prefer a dipstick... makes it a lot easier and don't have to rely on sensors... IMO. |
