These OEM units are used by the M5, M8 & X5 M. So they shouldn't have that status. Which vendors are you referring to... ?
Getbmwparts as an example as well as many others like it. ECS show it is back ordered. Just odd. Where did you source your parts?

Hopefully soon. There have been too many other fires to put out first. Certainly haven't forgotten about this cool upgrade. With the current supply chain issues parts are taking forever to ship out right now. The right caliper was chipped (took 3-4 weeks to arrive), then ordered a new one & they sent my returned one back. Now I'm sitting on that unit before they send it's replacement out. Should "FINALLY" have it to go with the left caliper in just a few days.

Damn, what a pain in the neck :

I'm curious if anybody knows if there is a difference between the 2020 X5M caliper and the older 2014-2018 X5M caliper. Both are 6 piston and both the 2014 and 2020 use the 395x36 front rotor.

I got mine from ECS Tuning.

I'm not sure & would have to look at RealOEM to verify. I believe the 2019+ is the correct caliper for this.

Glad to see this project is getting closer to coming into fruition. Sure took a long time to get a matching set (left & right) of current gen X5 M calipers that had no substantial paint chips on the outward facing areas. Almost gave up on this at one point. But then I remembered how much I love driving the X3 MC fast. And how well the 4-piston factory brakes slow down this 4,600 lb beast when driving aggressively. Can't wait to "finally" install these & see how well she stops. With the same braking system as the M5 & M8 now, I think she'll stop on a dime pretty well...

Hi fellas. My sincere apologies about the delay. Although this project has been put on the back burner for the moment, I certainly haven't forgotten about this. Not trying to be a tease with these beautiful M3, M5, M8 & X5 M calipers.

The 2020 X3 MC I'm currently restoring is taking longer then originally expected. But now that spring has arrived this will be moved up the list a touch. The moment they're installed I'll make sure to update you all & give direct feedback.

any update to this? The X3m Brakes fit the G20 M340 thus this should also be a bolt on for our cars.

Do the X5M have carbon ceramic as option so we can get gold calipers? I will need to check.

You can always get your calipers powdered coated prior to installing - that is my plan when I perform the upgrade

i plan to track my car and powder coat retains heat more than paint. I also prefer the oem brembo finish so it is exactly the right shade of gold/yellow.

My plan is to get m3/m4/m5 f90 carbon ceramic calipers and make brackets.

The wheel company I am working with says we can make them fit.

This is very true; a carbon setup will be fantastic!

will 2019s work?

I have the same question. Did you look at converting the rears as well? I found these and would love to know if the rear 4 piston units from the X5M will fit our X3Ms as easily as the fronts do:

"Rear big brake with pads upgrade BMW X5 X6 E70 E71 to Brembo 4 pot unpainted"

they're all being offered by tro-nik. Kinda sucks that they come all the way from eastern europe

@saabster2010 I'm not sure anyone has upgraded the rears calipers yet. But I wouldn't bother. And the front OEM units (pictured above) are from the previous generation X5 M SAV's. You'll want the version of calipers from the current generation X5 M. Those will have everything you need to be plug & play. All you need is the brake pads & 4 main bolts.

What do you think about M5 vs Brembo front break? Bremo has bigger disk and caliper. So the M5 is just cheaper?
