Yeah, you have to remove the mirrors first. There's videos on youtube that show how it's done on other models of BMW. Then I just got a small trim tool and worked it along the mirror cap. I believe I started on the side closest to the car and worked toward the outside. Just go slow and you should be fine.

Has anyone decided to spray the m style mirror caps in the same colour as the car? I'd love to see how it would look in Alpine White
