Maybe they'll stick with MY2020 as they'll want to get up and running asap so they may go with what they know. Bedding in changes for MY2021 could slow them down. This is pure conjecture...

Do you know the difference between My2020 and My2021? Thanks.

Edit:

ah, general consensus:
2021 production starts March (meaning April/May arrivals).
No one knows what is new or included in it, versus the 2020

They made some significant changes for 2020. In 2022 they'll probably go LCI it. Plus: Covid-19. So I would imagine that for 2021 any changes would be modest--limited to maybe color choices etc. But maybe they'll enable nice leather and a new color or two. In any event, I imagine that the differences won't be too meaningful.

I might stand corrected:

https://engnews24h.com/rumors-new-bm...estyling-2021/

It's hard for me to believe that the LCI would come in 2021--it's like practically around the corner. But this article, found by forum member andre999 would indicate that I'm wrong.

Yeah, plans could def. change on that. Also:

"Aesthetically, it will be recognizable by the enlarged grille, the thinner headlights and the burnished tail lights."

I'm assuming it would release in 2021 but as a 2022 model year?

48V Mild hybrid version is already included in X3 and X4 20d. BMW changed some weeks ago these models.

Yeah, I think the grilles don't need to get any bigger either...

2021 production starting March makes no sense. My 2020 was produced in September 2019 and was likely some of the earliest 2020's off the line. First 2020 at my dealer. It would make no sense to produce the 2021 starting just 7 months later.

Traditionally the new model year for European manufacturers (yes I realise the factory is in the US) starts following the summer shutdown, hence September for the new model year. Maybe this applies to the US too and who knows what'll happen due to C19? The whole supply chain will need to be operating across multiple countries, which could take time.

South Carolina is one of a handful of states not isolating.

Hmmmm... Spartanburg is confirmed to be closed, so I cross my fingers for you neighbor !

My last official status was that it was on the ship. But according to the dealer, it’s already standing somewhere on a very big parking lot in belgium, no too far away.
But they can’t deliver.
But I’m going to listen anyway because I need my car for my job. One of our solutions is software for hospitals...
