Pre-LCI X3 M - rear bumper diffuser painted black...

I think for those who want to make the Pre-LCI X3 M's a touch more sporty looking & aggressive (especially in the rear bumper area) painting the lower diffuser portion (semi-gloss black) is a great way to easily achieve this. Wish we could see a few more examples of this.

I had mine wrapped, it does add a nice touch. I think this part should have been a gloss black “option” like the F90 competitions have vs base m5s.

I fully agree with you. When you look at the F90 M5, this is the way the Competition model should've come from the factory too. It makes the pre-LCI bumper (which is much too mundane & sleeper status already) look much more aggressive like the LCI X3 MC rear bumper is.

I'm thinking of doing X-Pels black semi gloss PPF on this part. Do you remember what they used on yours... ?

BrockDM On a quick side note, do you remember the Brand Name, Wheel Model & basic specs on the wheels... ?

Since I know you use to have them (in a similar or exact same color) I figured you would be the best person to ask about them. Thank you in advance man!

Found a video of "exactly" what you're talking about. The white F90 M5 base here looks much less aggressive than the Comp package does. Especially in white.

The installer used 3M gloss black for mine. I had thought about paining it as well, but didn’t want a permanent alteration at this time.

Thank you BrockDM for the super quick & accurate reply with all the info I needed. I'm running those same exact tire sizes right now & they're perfect. Do you happen to know if he was running the same tire sizes as you... ?

Yes he was running the same size. The conti 7 has a different sidewall profile thats why his may look more squared off.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I use PhotoBucket & have a premium subscription. So I can save & post as many photos as I need to. I believe they have a free version as well. Basically, to make a long story short you need a dedicated 3rd party site to host the photos, then you simply copy & past that IMG link here. If that makes any sense. We appreciate you man & I know it's a touch overwhelming at first. Maybe a YouTube university quick clip may do a better job of explaining the fairly simple process.

I had my lower valance wrapped. I agree, I think it makes the car look more aggressive and visually lighter from the rear. I like it on the comp M5s.

because you need to upload those files onto the internet to be able to share them. c'mon you've had like 30 years to learn this.

Take it for a quick run & give it a try. Once you get use to it, overall it's a breeze. I have a love hate relationship with tech too. But PhotoBucket is pretty easy.

Bumping this back to the top because I'm getting closer to getting this completed. There's a non comp M5 on this street & a comp M5 in the same Donington color. The one with the bottom rear bumper section in black looks substantial better & much more sporty back there!

When you guys get a moment, would you do me a small favor & take 2-3 small photos of the that area that your park distance sensors were wrapped in black film / wrap. I'll tell my installer to make the circles in the Xpel template smaller then usual to cover up mpst the 2 PDC's that this mod will possibly interfere with. But it would be great to see more close up photos to see how your installer did yours.

Ultimately, I don't think the PDC will still work / operate as it should through the PPF film. But may it will. All I know is that the outer circle is body colored & can't be changed. But the inner circle (the head of the PDC) can be changed. All I would have to do is put a black Avery dot on it or buy 2 new sensors that are black & haven't been painted yet.

My installer just wrapped over the sensors and they are still working properly. Might not be the most proper way but I didn’t want him to hand cut the circles and have it look off or even cut the paint.

That makes complete sense & I think this is the same rout that I'm going to take too. My clear Xpel PPF on the front bumper has been laying on top of the PDC sensors for over a year without any hick ups, so I'm assuming this PPF that's simply a different color shouldn't effect their normal operation too much. If at all. I appreciate you man!
