Sport plus vs sport engine in 30i

I tried to look in the manual but it doesn't really specify what the change is here in the sport plus vs the sport. I'm assuming that the transmission probably holds the gears longer with sport plus.

As far as I know the difference between Sport and Sport plus is only the DSC is enabled in Sport Plus, at least in the non M models...

As opposed to what? You mean there is DSC on but no Traction Control.

When going from Sport to Sport Plus the only that changes is DCT On (Dynamic Traction Control) not DSC as I said earlier.

I know this was true for some previous models of BMWs, but setting it to Sports Plus doesn't throw up the "TRACTION" indicator in the instrument cluster, whereas manually pressing the DSC button once does.

I'd be surprised if DTC comes on without an indicator...

I concur. It doesn't.

If it's anything like the 3 and 4 series, then the mode switch doesnt impact transmission at all. Only throttle, steering, suspension, and dsc. To get the transmission into sport mode and therefore max performance, you need to also push the gear lever over to S. So lever to S plus mode switch to Sport, to really enjoy the full potential. I've always hated that about BMW.
