Just got the word that my NJ dealer cannot get the 2018 ordered as promised. Not really a shocker as all the posts in this forum clued me in that they would not be able to deliver as promised

But the good news is that they will honor my deal on the 2018 for the 2019, just have to wait a little longer. Order is in.

Seriously, BMW is doing themselves NO good by continuing to make these safety features "optional equipment". Subarus, Toyotas and many others are putting these on as standard equipment. Just another way to jack up the price of a 50K+ vehicle where the competition has you beat. May not matter to some, but the arrogance is a major turn off to others.

He informed me that BMW can build a 2018 w/ ZDA/B, but the Leather w/ Blue Stitching and Rhombicle Aluminum are NOT available. Go figure??? If I do a 2018, all the incentives, credits, financing will remain in effect. If I go with a 2019, only the $500 over Invoice and incentives in effect at time of order will be applied. If he can find a similar at another dealer, then there's the price negotiation and shipping (if out of the NW area)...

The interior is as important as the exterior, as well as safety features, so not likely to go for a 2018 build. Any thoughts as to the timing of BMW incentives--historically. I'm not in a hurry, except that I've been excited to upgrade my current 2012 X3 28i.
My dealer called today to inform me that BMW has moved my original order back to scheduled for production. If all goes well, I'll take delivery towards the end of AUG.

I ordered a MY19 M40i today with ZDA/ZDB and it immediately went into status 112 -- scheduled for production. The dealer tells me that SOP for MY19 is 8/18, though the ordering guide says 8/1.

I suspect one of a couple of things might have happened with ZDA/ZDB in MY18, though I ordered an MY18 30i with ZDA/ZDB in late February, 2018 and it was delivered on April 1.
  • There is some issue with the parts used in MY18
  • The take rate was higher than BMW planned for

Whatever it was, I doubt it'll be hard to get ZDA/ZDB in MY19.

Several people, including me, have build dates in week 31 and I think I even heard a week 30 mentioned. So it seems 2019 production is starting at the end of July. I have ZDA on my order.

All the previous information I saw said 8/18, which meant "August 2018". Your dealer may not be reading his information right if he thought it meant August 18 2018. He also might be referring to your build slot however -- do you know your build week?

This thread is sort of outdated at this point, but yes... I have a MY19 build in and it's scheduled for week 31 (7/30-8/5) and it has ZDA/ZDB. As far as I know, this is the first week of MY19 production unless they decided to start a week early (which I also heard they might from my dealer). With any luck a lot of us should see our cars very shortly!

Production Has Begun

Just received the VIN from my dealer and Track My BMW states my 2018 X3 production has begun! It's actually starting to be "real!" All packages/options are listed, to include ZDA/ZDB.

Congrats! What build week were you slated for prior to the current status today? Jealous as heck!

Don't really know... Previously had my build scheduled, then pulled back due to ZDA/B issues. Order was originally placed 30 MAY with dealer. I hope to take delivery NLT end of AUG!
