2016 F25 interior replacement/sport seat upgrade?
Hi all,
After driving a 2001 330CI for 14 years, I recently bought a 2016 X3 xDrive28i with just 6500 miles on it. The X3 has heated SensaTec seats without the sports package. I love the new car, but I realized that I miss the sport seats in my old 330, particularly the thigh support. Plus I just prefer the feel of the leather over the SensaTec. I'm thinking about finding a set of seats on car-parts.com and upgrading the interior, but I have a few questions: 1. Assuming I find a set of sport seats from another F25, is this a plug-and-play operation? Or are the seats coded to the VIN in some way? Is there any programming involved? 2. Am I limited to seats from another X3, or will seats from an X5/X6 also fit/work in my car? 3. What production years am I limited to? Will seats from a pre-LCI F25 fit in my car? Thanks in advance for any advice. |

Thanks for the tip, but how did you use the part numbers? It looks like there is an individual part number for every component of the seat, not just the whole seat itself.

Rather than starting a new thread, I have a question about this process.
I have a 2015 F25 with non-sport sensatec electric(memory) heated seats. They are hard as bricks. I found some F25 M sport leather seats with the same electric memory and heating specs. I would expect the wiring harness to be identical. Since these are seats have the same features, would the car need a coding update? If so, can a Indy service shop typically do that? |
