Just got a call from my dealer and new items are now being axed on ALL X3 builds. 7M9 Extended Shadowline Trim (which I believe is the black grills), 610 Heads up Display, and Sirius/XM as prior mentioned.

Between those items, no HK audio, no passenger lumbar, no digital key, it's starting to turn into a slight Frankenstein build.

^^
Is that for the M40i as well as the 30i? Or just the 30i?

That is a fully loaded M Sport 30i. The M40i what I can tell still gets many of those options (at least currently). Just built both on the BMW site.

This isn’t auto high beams. It’s a different kind of technology. Check it out:

Watching this video again makes me think that the US LCI might not have the hardware required. If the lights themselves don’t swivel anymore then the anti-dazzle functionality won’t work properly. Oh well

I actually don’t know what it is. I just assumed it was the cornering light.

I just checked. It’s an Amber light. What we call “parking lights” or “running lights” like you said.

I do see another bulb on the inside of the housing. That’s gotta be the cornering light. Sure enough, I got it to illuminate when I turned the wheel.

This is BMW Selective High Beam.

Don't know about the US, but the UK description of the LCI standard lights, which BMW calls Icon Adaptive LED in the configurator, is -

"In addition, they include Adaptive Headlights that follow the steering angle of the front wheels (not active in reverse gear or when stationary), cornering lights that improve vision at close range and BMW Selective Beam for autonomous control of the left and right headlights plus low and high-beam which avoids dazzling oncoming traffic."

If this is accurate why buy a BMW if you cant get what you want?

What possible reason could they give for no extended shadowline trim. Computer Chips?!!!!

Correct. The selective beam is what we don’t get in the US.

I have ZERO idea and makes no sense. The 30i model I have doesn't even have the 360 camera in the front grill. So they are essentially just cancelling adding black grills. They run out of black paint WTF

I ordered a pretty well fully loaded M40i and one of the option on my contract is that I can refuse the deal if any standard/option features on the contract is missing. Since I got a 2020 one, I will walk away from the deal. Not paying that kind of money and being short changed because the beans counter decided to stop the delivery of chips when Covid started. Stay tune...

Yea I have zero deposit or anything binding on the build. Dealer said I can show up and not like it and walk if I wanted it's not a big deal. Right now in this climate it well sell regardless.

Funny enough, on Monday I build (Canadian site) my order (M40i) and the only Selectable No Cost Option was (490) Adjustable Seat Side Bolsters and had to be selected to show up on the Summary. Both, the (3MC) High-Gloss Black Roof Rails and (760) High-Gloss Black Window Surround Options were automatically selected and marked "Series equipment and were listed in the Summary.

This morning I did the same build and now, both 3MC and 760 are also No Cost Option and have to be selected to show up on the Car and Summary.

It will interesting if other "Series equipment" like 1CR - Remote Engine Start (Standard Equipment in Canada) end up as No Cost Option that needs to be selected.

Well, just got a call from my salesman to tell me that my build is at 112 (Order scheduled for Production).

Apparently, I just sneak in as they got an e-mail Wednesday from BMW mentioning that the HUD is no longer available for all X3s and X4s.

If you are Status 111 (Order Accepted at AG) you should OK.

I'm in status 111 and now I'm worried... No SiriusXM isn't ideal, but no HUD would the the final straw that would cause me to cancel my M40i order.

Has BMW given a reason why they are currently no longer offering the shadowline trim option? When it will be available again? Is MB and Audi doing the same shit?

Unless their inventory is screw-up you are Ok.

I don't drive a Macan GTS right now because it doesn't have a HUD, so no HUD would be a deal breaker.

I just made 150 was order Saturday.

As mentioned it the other thread I was status 111 and they just removed HUD, Sirius, and Extended Shadowline. If you make it in consider yourself lucky, I wasn't.

dereksM3, do you actually see the HUD removed from your build? I'm in status 111 as well and my CA just sent me the following screenshot showing it's still on my build. Really trying to figure out what's going...and I guess so is BMW apparently.

Also, the HUD is still showing on my build under the Premium Package on the MyBMW site. Whereas SiriusXM is showing deleted...
