It also works out your core, which is important for p90x and beyond. The biggest problem with yoga is the length of the routine. To try and cut it down, I skipped through the breathing/mediation in the beginning and end and also skipped most of the balance postures. So basically did the first 45 minutes, some of the first couple balance postures, then skipped to yoga belly section. In all I was able to cut the workout to an hour.
yea man the yoga x does help with the soreness. i never thought about skipping through the nediation stuff. good idea

Agreed, I used to be like "Yoga wtf..." until I actually did it.

Anyway, I'll be starting once I get the pull up bar. I'll probably be going into work crippled the next day

Someone mentioned strength and how important it is in the military. Well, I have found there is a fine fine fine line there. Currently I am between 165 and 168 lbs and 5 foot 8. I have been as heavy as 189lbs of solid muscle..But guess what, I am stronger now then at 189. Sure I could bench a lot and curl a lot. But that does not translate into actual fitness and work being done. I had no stamina compared to what I have now, I couldnt do as many pushups, pullups, sit ups etc etc. While I was doing P90x I hadnt run in 2 months. One day I decided to run, 12 miles later I wasnt even close to winded. Just REALLY REALLY bored of running. At 189 I probably could only run 5 or 6 miles because I had to carry so much muscle. Its a big toll on your lunges to provide all that muscle with oxygen. Just my thoughts on the strength point.

i agree, but the bodybuilder look is a different goal.. fortunately i dont lose too much strength when i drop, but i always make sure pull ups and push ups are part of my training... @ 198 this yr i was still getting ten wide grip pull ups out (full range though, many people cheat on these) for 4 sets...

as long as we are working out and dont like like crap this is all

I haven't gotten to Kenpo X since I'm still on day 5, so I'd have to say Yoga X was the easiest and Plyometrics was the toughest. I was sore for 3 days afterwards....

I'm getting this protein/ casein/ vitamin: here, and maybe some creatine.

I'm the total opposite, I need to eat tons of calories just to keep from losing weight. I might replace yoga X with a lifting workout, not sure yet.

good to see folks are still going at it. i got sick after finishing my first month...and fell off after that...haven't started back since. i did lose approx. 10-12lbs in that first month...just from the lean program and strict eating alone. i felt great...just need to find the motivation to jump back on the program.

Go for it! I'm starting to make some changes to the program as I build my home gym. I need to bulk up (not burn fat) so I'm trying to tailor it for my needs.

pump it up some

Run 2 miles in the mourning after eating 1 cup of raisin brand w lofat milk if you are trying to lose weight. Also restrict calories in your diet and make sure you get enough protein so you don't lose muscle. Do this in addition to your P90 workout. You can lose 2.5 lbs. per week if you do this.

Cut the run if trying to gain mass and increase protein/calories and eat every 2 hrs high protein and good carbs in addition to P90 exercise.
