European delivery time

I think the letters at the start of the 7 digit VIN are series specific. You will find that all the VINs above and below yours will be the same engine, drivetrain....... My order is a 20d and that's what I saw when using mdecoder.

Yep...I think that's true. I have been checking the production dates of severel numbers and they are not consistent, which means that they are not only producing 30d.

It dépends on the demand and the capacity of production of the different plants. Mine was produced in the US, several ones aswell from a french forum i follow. It all dépends on the number of cars to produce on a given time. Rosslyn has longer Delivery times so it's not interesting for european dealers to have rosslyn slots....

Ordered 4th April, accepted to production and 112 status 9th April...started production 21th June, delivery expected on week 33 (mid August).

What is meant by "individual"?

I believe it refers to the special exterior and interior colors available in certain markets. There's actually an app called BMW Individual, that shows you the different combos etc.

Check your contract. Look for car model. If the last digit is 1 (for example TX31 for 20d) it’s US version; if it’s 5 (TX35) it’s African version.
But still, you have to check it at your dealership. They could have changed that during last week.

If you go to the UK desktop website and go to build a car the BMW live chat option appears, you just need your 7 digit order number for them to find your details

Today my 20i was delivered. I only had driven the 40i and 20d. I will need no explaining that the 20i is a less powerfull engine.

However, I consider myself a speedy driver and find the engine very smooth with no considerable turbo lag (compared to the 320i (n20 engine). It is feels quick. Last weeks I’ve driven an 520i (same engine and 0-100 km/h) across the German autobahn and there is no need for more power, with this engine you can stay ahead of 90% of the traffic.

Compared to the 20d I find the 20i a much smoother engine which is also a lot more quiet. It doesent sound like driving a tractor.

Nice, good info. Mine is listed as TX71. (30d) so that would be US version. I like that better, used to live in NY so it's cool to have some kind of link to the US again :P

OMG...it's almost there!!! Mine will arrive in one month the latest, I am so nervous!

I will go next saturday to my dealer to see the new X4 and make all paperwork related to BMW financial, so we can make it faster when the car arrives to dealer

Yes, almost... But at the same time so far... Le havre is only 300kms from my dealership and home but yet 10 days have now passed and my car is still there...
