Good info, thanks. My M40i was ordered mid November with a build of first week Feb & delivery of mid March, now slipped a month. Will check it out today and see if my friendly dealer can pull it back it if it's just me affected!

Here in Spain orders are being delayed 1 or 2 months, changing from 112 status to 105. It seems there is a production issue.

I ordered mine (20i xLine) 20th November, with delivery scheduled to dealer(hopefully) for week 7.
Following status already achieved -

5055 Confirmed by Production Control = 05/01/18
5300 Pre-Assembly Start = 16/01/18
5500 Assembly Complete = 17/01/18
6000 Transfer to Distribution = 18/01/18

Once it gets to the port (Charleston ?), how do I track the shipping ?

Mine's in production as of today so after being delayed, it's come forward a little. Hoping 2nd week March delivery - baby due 11th March...

Fantastic! Sounds like you got my bloody slot though, I had a delivery date of March 11th before it dropped to April

Hopefully dealer will update me tomorrow.

When I got home from trying to get my dashcam and passenger mirror problems sorted I noticed that the driver's side "curtain" light wasn't working anymore - I assume something got screwed up when they tried to sort out the passenger mirror dipping software problem.

Just got back from LaLa Land today, so I'll give the dealer a call tomorrow for the latest software update eta - won't hold my breath though.

I saw a blue M40i last week at a dealership in Palm Springs. Surprisingly it had the same wheels as my MSport - the 698s - so, apart from the different exhausts and slight bodywork mods at the front, the M40i looked vey much like my 30d MSport (see previous pics). Looked good to me !

Can't wait to get back behind the wheel after nearly three weeks away.

Mine's now at 9000 Departed Plant - dealer reckons might get it 1st week March depending on ship timing.

Today my dealer informed me that BMW has halted the production of the 20i, 30i en 40i for Europe. My order would have been produced next week, but has changed to code 105 (Order out of Prod. Period). Reason for this the a new filter for the exhaust.

The dealer has recieved this information by letter from bmw. It also stated that all the current placed orders will be rescheduled this week for production in March, April and May. If you add 6 weeks for shipping thats a considerable delay.

Good news for diesel orders is that the vacated production space will be used for production of diesel engines.

Probably I got a space of non diesel, went in production on Jan. 26 instead of Feb 6th.

Yesterday mine X3 20D was nr. 153 (paint shop).
They will not make March 12, but I could pick him up at March 28th.

As mentioned above, BMW is implementing a new partical filter for the petrol engines. Due to this not a single petrol engine will be produced until March.

What about cars already released?
If this is an emissions issue, wouldn’t they need to update all the cars already with customers.

Seems I was lucky: walked into dealership and saw a 30d M Sport in showroom - with more than the specification I wanted; so, discount negotiated, and car to be collected 21 February - ahead of the 1 March BMW UK price rises and 1 April VED increases.

Yep. Same as above. Mine changed to 1200 yesterday with a production week of March 11th. Ours might even be on the conveyer belt behind each other dude. Only thing that keeps changing is the delivery week. Now very late April.

I think you might be right there. That’s the same build week as mine with delivery expected in week 17 (w/b 22nd April).

Inadvertently posted this in a new thread, instead of in here:

Ordered the 2.0D M sport in late November 2017, but had to to revisit the dealer on 4 January 2018 and revise my order because the black/blue leather seat option was not available for at least 6-9 months (because of a Sensatec dashboard problem apparently - and the seats weren’t available on their own).

I chose different upholstery and took the opportunity to add another couple of options. Surprised and delighted to be contacted today to be told my car has arrived in the UK and will soon be en route to the dealer. I must admit that’s quicker than I expected given the need to ship the vehicles across the Atlantic.
