Has anyone see the option for the acoustic glass? I think it is standard for the windshield, but optional for the side windows.
Anyone know?

Thanks to @progmatism for first posting the link in the other thread.

My M40i build, looking to take delivery probably April/May 2018 assuming wife and I like it in person:

Alpine White vs Phytonic Blue (need to see in person) $550
Cognac Vernasca Leather $1700
4K9 Aluminum Interior $0
ZDA Driving Assistance Package $900
ZPP Premium Package $2950
22Z 21" Wheels $1900
2VF Adaptive M Suspension $700
3AC Trailer Hitch $550
688 Harman Kardon $875
6CP Apple CarPlay $300
6NW Wireless Charging $500
5DF Active Cruise Control $1200

Base price $54300
Destination $995

Total: $67,420
Trade in 2014 SQ5

I'm thinking of getting the Executive Package since you get leather as part of that package, plus you get the following items for only $850 more:

5DN Parking Assistant Plus
6U8 Gesture Control
6WB 12.3" Dynamic Digital Instrument Cluster
ZX1 Active Park Distance Control
ZX3 Surround View w/ 3D View

In for a penny, in for a pound!

Call me crazy but I don't want any of those options, especially the digital instrument cluster and active PDC. So I'll save the $850. Same reason I would opt for active cruise control but not driving assistant plus. There are just some options I don't want in those packages.

I'm getting the 30i so to get icon headlights you have to get the exec but yes I wish the options in the US are available one at a time or unbundled.

Are you saying that's the price of the build on paper but you actually got a much lower price at the dealer? Can you share what your lowered cost ended up being?

Sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm already talking to a dealer and he said they'll have a car to test drive most likely in October, so I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row between now and then so I can get the best price possible.

Thanks!
BMW US Invoice Pricing calculation
Base vehicle US MSRP (from pricing sheets) multiplied by 0.93
+ MACO fee $500.00 (flat rate applied to all dealers)
= Base vehicle US BMW invoice price

To figure the invoice price of your BMW as configured add -
+ Option and packages (anything you can add to the vehicle) multiplied by 0.92
+ Training fee of $180.00
+ Destination and handling charge - Currently $995
= Total vehicle invoice price +/- $10.00

Does anyone know the formula for Canadian pricing?

I didn't see that as an option on the US ordering guide. Has me thinking it's optional in Germany or UK(Which I think it is if you check out their Build your own site).

Looking at 2.0d MSport but nothing on the finance deals as yet.

Do you recon they will be doing the low APR rates on the new X3 ?

I hope BMW is listening to this. We're considering the new XC60 also and in addition to its cost being a good deal below the X3 (feature to feature), they also are offering *very* competitive leases right now. I'd prefer the X3 M40i to the XC60 T6 Inscription, but not if the lease payment is 30% higher, just not enough difference between the cars to justify it. Plus I don't want to be the person to tell my wife she doesn't get massaging front seats *and* the car costs $200 a month more.

Ball is in your court BMW.

(My take on comparing the two cars:
XC60 T6 Ins: better interior, better exterior, better safety, better seats, crazy air suspension, less expensive
X3 M40i: better chassis, vastly superior engine, better nav/entertainment, overall more engaging drive, stay in BMW family )

So, does anyone know if you don't order the 2VF Adaptive M Suspension option on the M40i are you left with non-variable m-sport suspension? With standard suspension on the M40i, is there any comfort mode, or is is sport mode full time?

I was just comparing the two on paper and the XC60 is certainly compelling even with less power under the hood. However, I then realized they are still on a FWD based Haldex AWD system that only sends power to the rear when needed, and only up to 50:50 split. For me at least that is a big no thank you when I have the option for an X3 M40i with 30:70 full time split and the ability to send all power front or rear. The xDrive in my 235i is phenomenally fun. I can't stress enough how good this AWD is for enjoyable performance driving.

But if there is a big lease price difference it does make the M40i tough to justify for the typical drivers of the world.

Yep, no doubt the X3 M40i will provide a better spirited driving performance, not even close. But for us, this is my wife's daily driver and then the family road trip car, so while it does count for something, it's not on the top of the list in terms of priorities—for a car like the X3, that's likely the case for many prospective buyers.

I think if they want to sell boatloads of these, as mentioned, they have to sell to people in our situation and that means competing with the Volvo on lease costs, hopefully.

BMW has a captive finance arm. I don't blame them for trying to make a fair return on their capital. Another option if you want to reduce your payment and have some flexibility is to get a bank loan with a 72 month repayment. Obviously you will trade or repay within 72 months but with continued low interest rates these longer term bank loans might make sense to someone who would consider leasing.

That's not crazy at all. You should get what you want. Building your own is so much more fun (to me) than just picking something off the lot.

I don't remember where I found the picture because I have had it for a while. I may have Googled "BMW X3 G01 Individual". It looks like the other two colors offered are the tan and lighter colors in the small windows at the bottom left of the picture.
