Where is best place to get Gloss Black side vents and boomerangs to replace the current Cerium versions.

You can get cheap black covers for £10:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233561127169

But I got the X3M replacement vents which are very nice imo:

I got the "normal" style ones from IND. They look nice, but that's a lot of money for a couple bits of plastic. I definitely like the X3M ones wayyyy more. I'm also torn about how they say X3M on them; I don't want to look like one of those kids that slap an M badge on their 328i. But man, they just look so much better.

Someone here bought them and said that the logo can be easily removed. Don't remember who it was and where it is posted.

Yes, but it's just a badge so it can be easily removed.

I've got an M40d, so I think the badging is justifiable.

The vents look nice but "X3M" means X3M, not sure anything else is justifiable.

To be fair, it's X3 ///M not X3M

Well it’s quite clearly listed as an “M model” on BMW’s website

There’s just no room for the 40d bit on the vents.

And considering that some markets have the standalone m badge on both sides of the fender , this doesn't scream "trying too hard"

Exactly, I specced mine without those ///M badges, so I actually have the normal quota of ///M badges for this model.

We don't get them here. If I add two more I'll be on par with the UK...

The "M" vents look a lot nicer for sure. Just do it, dont think anyone would ever notice or care anyways - there's M badges all over the car already lmao.

That press release is from 2012!

They're counted as M models by BMW now:

Wack Lol. I personally don't agree with that. I agree MPA vehicles are a step above regular vehicles but not on the same level as M vehicles. No S engines except for 1M and first M2, no run in services, more comfort oriented suspension and subframe mountings etc, no dedicated M3 M4 X3M etc badge.

It's just my opinion but if the model on your monroney label didn't say X3 M I don't think putting X3 M badges on the vehicle is tasteful or representative of the actual vehicle. People nowadays are more worried about putting M badges on their car than making a car unique and adding they're own flair with parts and add ons and aero to make it stand out and be special. Now the top search hit for BMW owners on eBay and Alibaba is "M badges".

Ive always been a fan of OEM+. Putting parts from different cars together to form the best possible example of that car without being fake or trying to show the car as something it's not.

But I have got an X3 M40d! Do you want me to write 40d after the M, just to satisfy your OCD? :
