LCI ride quality?

Is the ride quality more compliant in LCI v. Pre-LCI? I don't mind firm rides, but not nausea inducing harshness. So far Cayenne/Macan is my favorite, but if X3M can deliver 90% of Porsche's ride quality, I am cool with it.

Specifically, I would to know the differences b/t:

Pre-LCI X3M v. LCI X3M; and
Pre-LCI X3MC v. LCI X3M; and
pre-LCI X3MC v. LCI X3MC

in terms of driving dynamics. Do you have more low end torque after the engine revision(s)? How's the back seat comfort? BMW SUVs generally suck at this from my experience.

I can’t really tell the difference between pre and lci although I had 18 months gap in between

My car is currently for sale but if it doesn’t sell
And I keep it I will likely go down the mss route

I can't talk about pre lci but the comfort mode has been smooth for me on my 2022 X3M Comp.
It's not as butter smooth as my Subaru outback but it's very good in comfort.

When you put it in any other modes (non individual) then the ride quality becomes a bit harsh if the pavement is less than perfect.

Good tires goes a long ways, I switched the factory continentals with some Michelin pilot sports 4 all season and it probably improved ride comfort/quality by probably a solid 10-15%.

Porsche is on a different level when it comes to comfort, if comfort is on top of the list then Porsche is the way to go.

Lastly, if comfort is your number one priority but you still want an X3 with performance then the X3 M40i is an excellent car, the ride is very good, it's not as harsh as the X3M, even in sports mode the suspension tuning is very soft.

Nailed it...and is likely the most comparable to a Macan.

OP, the only difference in ride between a x3mc and a x3m will come into play if you equip a x3m with 20" tires, which should in theory be a bit more comfortable than 21".

Not considering 40i variants as I would definitely go Macan for similar money. Only reason I am considering X3M is due to the S58 engine.

Any reason you did not go for the summer tires? They ride better than the all season ones.

I hated the pano, until I found a loose bolt rattling. Multiple dealer visits could not fix it. I took one last shot driving around a bumpy road with a passenger listening and he pointed out a loose washer rattling against plastic. All silent now.

I have only one set of wheels and I wasn't planning to have a separate set and therefore I went with all seasons.

In the uk, it’s a deal breaker. Can’t buy a car like this without a pan roof

If I had the option for a full carbon fiber roof I'd probably take that over the pano roof. With that said I enjoy the sunshine that it brings.

I like the Pano roof. Had it tinted with XPEL XR Plus at 70% to cut off UV rays which makes it more enjoyable.
