I went with a Square setup. 20X8.5 Platinum Retribution Gloss Gunmetal Grey rims wrapped with 255/45R-20 PIRELLI SCORPION WINTER XL rubber.

Similar style to the Comp Wheels. Overall I am loving the look for my winter setup.

I was able to score a set of Niche 152 Vicenza's. I was really in a pinch and needed some right away, so I feel lucky to have gotten a set that looks pretty good. I really wanted a square set and was able to do that with the 255/45 Hakka R3's.

Purchased the 764m winter wheel package and just had them installed today on my LCI X4MC. I agree, they look much better in person. Now we just need to get some snow in NYC to test these bad boys out.

We got some nice powder in the city the other day which provided for an opportunity to go out and play in deep snow.

Main roads were already cleared but residential side streets still had plenty of snow which posed zero problems for my Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3's. They are simply excellent winter tires.

For anyone living in the NYC area, when do you recommend switching back to the 21" summer wheels?

I usually do it in early to mid April. That said, we have had some crazy late storms in April but they are usually melted pretty quickly.

We were finally above freezing in Toronto, here she is after a quick rinse at the car wash. I'm running a generic set of 20x9+30 wheels and 255/45r20 Michelin X-ices, they've been great in snow thus far this year.

Just realized I forgot to pull my sto-n-show plate off for photos ... next time.

I'm just hoping to get a wash in before I take them off!

We seem to be getting more salt than snow lately lol.

I am thinking of buying some Dotz Tanaka 9x20 ET28 wheels for my square winter setup (255/45 R20). The strange thing is that the vendor says that they are certified only for the front wheels in my X3M. I have seen though that many have similar square setups with no problems at all and I do not really understand what the problem could be with having these on the back axle.

Anyone who can comment on that?

Factory wheels that are generally supplied for snow tires (full set) are 9x20 ET28 front and 9x20 ET39 rear...so that might explain what the vendor is saying as far as a certification goes.

The 9x20 ET28 wheels will fit just fine at all four corners though and at least a couple of people have done that (all 4 wheels identical) so that you can "rotate" between front and rear each season to help balance out wear.
