Still awaiting a true X4M. Don't like the silver bits at all - they should be black, and I'm not thrilled with the wheel design. Overall it is kinda week, half assed I'd say. But a least BMW is listening, that we want and their should be a true full "M" version of the X4and X3.

Better is debadged, and you can enjoy the dynamics of the car, without thinking about others' opinion about the name of the car Just remebered the new model SQ 5 TDI Plus Probably will follow SQ5 TDI Multiply Last edited by vladberca; 09-27-2015 at 03:43 PM.. |

May be a good vehicle but that trunk badge looks ridiculous. How many letters/numbers can you have?

another car people didnt ask for but hey, that's fine. Im just slapping an ///M badge to my 335i and feel special in my brand new "performance" car. Joke aside, that M badge shouldnt be taken lightly. Is for their sports cars...Supposed to be iconic. Slapping a badge, bit bigger breaks and slightly better suspension does not entitled it to wear ///M on this midrange "sport" car.
I guess i dont know nothign about car, but their marketing department is taking over.

Wow. A lot of touchy folks here. It seems to me like people who care about badge dilution must be buying M cars for the badge and upset that more people will now have it, rather than looking at each car for what it is. In other words they feel like it devalues their M, which means they care more about having the label than that they got the performance they paid for.
I like it. I've been looking for a winter vehicle for awhile now. I want something with more clearance, but also something a bit more sporty than an X3/X4 35i. I don't want to go rally car Subaru, and I don't feel like I need to go full on Macan or wait for an X4M. SQ5 was on the radar, but now I worry about the state and resale of VAG vehicles over the next few years while their rep heals. I don't give a crap about the M labeling on this car but it sits right in the sweet spot that would scratch my itch for a sporty winter vehicle with decent clearance. If this is the same motor that goes into the m2, then damn.
An M car with the same motor as a non M. Not to take away from the M40i, but really should just make an X4 M and call it a day. The names will get more and more ridiculous. Keep it simple BMW. Plus, I think X4 M sounds pretty cool lol and with a full-blown M, the macan turbo will have a worthy opponent.
