Nervous nelly over here.

Mine charges pretty fast. But if you get the "fast cable" and the "fast" lighter charger unit, nothing beats that. Having said that, I've been on long trips and my phone rarely gets hot and always has a full charge afterwards. It's pretty reliable and I'm very happy with it so far. Plus - it's a $75 risk

I installed mine today. It took me less than 15 minutes. I didn't use a trim tool. I just pried off the console cover with my fingers. I didn't disconnect the 3 wires either. The console cover will lift up and over the shifter without removing those 3 wires. The rest is super easy. My light is green with no charge and turns orange when charging. Actually like that better than white and blue. IMO this is a great addition for $70. It fits like a glove.

The stock one charges really slowly. Must be a low amp rating. Hope this one is better. Nice job!

Good job, not sure I could do that. It's glad to see that some of us are at least somewhat technically proficient! I have the tech pack which comes with the wireless charger...only thing is it only works with iPhone 8 or later or similar model Android Phones and I have a comedy IPhone 5S from work

But a least it charges my display key.

I bought the charger plate and had it installed by Detailing Dynamics in Mineola. Highly recommend them.

BMW must be keen on this modification. The 2020 X3 has a 2pin harness on the inside. Ironically, I received the 3pin and cannot use it. I've contacted the seller as well.

For the record --- the blue connector is a major major major pain in tail to get out.

I haven't tried it, but I spoke to my dealer about putting the OEM one in my car and he said it cannot be retrofitted. I don't know if I believe him however.

I think you will find it is a case of THEY won't retrofit it, as BMW won't allow them to. Awhile back I was getting pricing on the OEM WiFi antenna, and whilst pretty cheap at £11, the workshop will not install, and I don't have the kahunas to take apart my dash to remove the head unit to plug it in.

Anyone know any decent retrofitters in the UK 🇬🇧?

Yes, fits and works perfectly. Installed on my X3 G01, produced at the end of 2018, registered in 2019.
