Thank you so much, Max! My motivation is partially being fueled by some of the bad reviews this great car has been receiving. Having said that, this is my first serious SUV build and I definitely don’t want to overdo the styling.

Curious to see what you do with those edges between body panels. Pros and cons to each path. Please let me know what you chose. From the looks, I would assume a flush cut on the edge vice a wrap under. That's what I did. Inquiring minds wanna know...

Flush cut. Those extended edges peel off with time. I’m not 100% sure, but I think most people do flush cut these days.

Just make sure if you entrust it to a car wash, that they don't hit those edges with the high pressure washer. That is not our friend! Last edited by MrItaly; 04-12-2020 at 05:58 PM.. |

Really nice transformation, Alex, definitely one-of-a-kind!
I think you indicated you're going to be putting together a separate build thread to showcase all you've done. If it's not too much effort and if you don't mind sharing when you do produce that thread, could you provide a list of everything you've done with part numbers and MSRP cost? I don't wish to pry so not wanting you to divulge any confidential deals or anything, but it would be a good reference for us if we want to adopt some of your concepts on our own F97s. Great work and thanks for sharing! |

Btw, guys. I ordered those wheels from Vossen with the “conservative fitment” option and I’m glad I did. They also offer “flush fitment” which adds 5mm. Just something to consider if you decide ordering wheels from them.

Dude! Your mod budget is some peoples' car budget! It's certainly a stunning one of a kind, but inquiring minds want to know:
1. Leased or purchased vehicle? 2. How long do you keep your vehicles? 3. Do you go mod-happy like this to all your vehicles? Totally none of my business & you're welcome to tell me to bug off, but if you're will to share, I am curious. I've changed out exhausts & added PFF to cars before, but nothing to the extent that you've done. And FWIW, my favorite after-market steering wheel is yours, so you've got my permission to keep it.

1. Leased or purchased vehicle? Purchased, I don't like to lease and I would never spend so much money on modding a leased car. 2. How long do you keep your vehicles? Usually, around 2 years. We will keep the X3M for at least 3 years. As you can see from my various energetic responses to random posters, I absolutely love this car. As I told Max, this is perhaps the most unjustly criticized and underrated BMW M vehicle at the moment, which curbs my modding enthusiasm even more. 3. Do you go mod-happy like this to all your vehicles? Absolutely not. This is only my third serious build and my very first SUV build. I will not post pictures of my previous builds (GT-R and M4). They looked very different and my style (and budget) has changed since then. |

Totally agree. I think it is amazing in all aspects for an M SUV. Nothing like it out there blending athleticism of an M3 with perks of an SUV
