My 2019 is loud enough I have no desire to get cutouts.
I had a QTP cutout on a T5 volvo a while back and it barely lasted a year before failing. Never figured out the cause. It was still getting power so my assumption was a burned out motor. Sounded amazing but that experience soured me on aftermarket cutouts. Perhaps I got a lemon or there are brands with better quality. Is the X3 valved exhaust just on one side? What if you did a muffler delete on that side? |

I’ve heard about these reliability issues with the motor actuated cutouts so I went with vacuum actuated. I’m a young’n and want a loud rowdy exhaust. However I’m mature enough to go for an option that isn’t obnoxious 24/7. I don’t hear much of my exhaust inside the cabin even with windows down (aside from the pops).

I get a decent bit of the exhaust sound in the cabin - hard to tell what's ASD and what's real though. Based on underpasses and tunnels, I think it's mostly real. |

Cutouts haven’t been installed yet but will post video once installed. Any videos with window down and stock exhaust result in mostly wind noise. I also have the ASD switched off.
