Doesn't seem like BMW can win. They manufacture something like the i3, people say BMW should have kept the design simple and inline with the rest of the BMW models. Now they release the iX3 which is essentially just a X3 with a different powertrain and now its boring.

It's boring because it's a 2WD X-car.

xDrive is what made X3 what it is today.

Then they remove xDrive and expect us to bite?

Not a chance they will sell these to anybody who has a clue.

No one is commenting on the way it drives because who really knows until it's released - comments seem to be directed at design. And last I checked, the U.S. market is the only market that I know of that still has sDrive X3's and X5's. So if we're going to nitpick, in a general sense, this is exactly the type of vehicle people have been asking for at least in terms of design and drivetrain but now it's boring and everybody wants xDrive.

You do realize that the blue trim is a color option on the i8, right? You either get blue or grey accents.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe that to be the case with the first original editions of the i8. Either way BMW had to leave the environmental blue with the emblems and wheels.

A majority will for sure want xDrive.

It's an absolute must for most SUV buyers.

Absolutely and I agree, I personally don't understand why BMW still even offers the X3, X5 and X6 in sDrive but all I'm saying is no matter what BMW does, it's going to be criticized because people can't see or consider things outside of their needs/wants. BMW could release every iteration it can to please everyone and I'm sure someone will complain that BMW has too many variants.

Regardless, it doesn't matter because the iX3 has no current plans to release in North America.

Smart of BMW because the IX3 cannot touch what Tesla is offering with their Model Y.

I only went 11 months on my 2 year lease on my third.

You might be able to do the same thing at your half way point.

Actually I did. I had an issue with the power steering that BMW couldn't fix so they bought my car back. They gave me by down payment (state rebate) and then all 12 of my lease payments back. I basically got a free car for a year. How did you end your lease?

I put a $1000 down instead of buying tabs and a making a monthly payment, and jumped into another 2 year lease.

Best looking EV so far in my opinion. Still I'd get rid of the blue stuff, and the rims. But lack of AWD and performance made me give up this car some time ago.

The incentives to buy pure EV's in my country is insane. No car tax (mostly CO2 based, compared to $ 40k on an X3 M40i, $ 4k on a X3 30e), no sales tax (25% on non pure EV's), cheaper tolls (about 10% of none pure EV's, and this is a big deal here, $10 toll for a non pure EV is not uncommon, average is maybe $5 ), cheaper parking, HOV type lane priviliges ..

Audi Etron is the most sold car here (not EV, Car period), followed by Tesla 3. Tesla Y will sell like hot cakes.

Too bad BMW can't make this with AWD and close too Tesla Y performance.

Something more along the lines of if we bought a car within 6 months or a year we could get a newer one with out paying an arm and leg because you'd be credited with what you've already paid. Maybe half of the down payment and payments made. Something like that. I'd rather go hybrid/electric then straight up gas. Don't get me wrong I love my X3 but had the hybrid been available I'd gone for it.
So iPhone upgrade program?

I've owned X3, M2, M3, and i3 for four years.

We first had a i3 REX for 3 years and only on rare occasions needed more than the 130 miles of battery power we got, now we bought an i3, without Range extender because 130 miles is more than enough for our daily needs.

This is exactly what I wanted! I live in Wisconsin and planned on slapping on some winter tires and driving that RWD beast with limited range to work and back everyday!
