I was just going to say that my dealer couldn't perform an alignment because the tie rods were "seized", they wanted to cut and replace them. I was able to rotate them with lots of heat and PB blaster. Maybe it'd apply to what you're doing too. |

I Installed a VRSF Catless downpipe on my 35i X3 along with a gunshot tune from BM3. Will have a proper exhaust clip coming soon!

I put CF mirror caps on, then changed the grill for CF frame/black double slat. Last edited by GoVikings; 09-30-2018 at 12:00 PM.. |

Installed the FTP charge pipe in my N55 X3 tonight. Was a bitch front to back but I'm a rookie when it comes to DIY mechanic work. Best part was I didn't have to drop the intercooler and was able to pull the stock CP out from the top.
EDIT: Added some pictures (check out that open-hood clearance). The vacuum line was incredibly difficult to get off the stock pipe. I definitely fucked the clips up somewhat, but it holds strong on WOT, so we'll see if I need to replace it after tuning. I didn't want to drop my FMIC and pull CP out the bottom, but I was able to get my arm down enough to push the curved part up and out. According to timestamps, here's the general idea of how long things took: 1.5 hours to disassemble the air box stuff, belly pan, and create access to pull out CP from the top, 15 minutes to pull the CP, 30 minutes to get the vacuum line out, 45 minutes to install new CP and another 30 for reassembly. These cars are incredibly rewarding to work on. First cruise felt great and the turbo is a bit louder now. Will be installing VRSF downpipe this weekend. Navigation
Hello everyone, first post here. Today I thought of adding navigation to my 2016 x3 35i. What parts do I need to buy to add this? Is just the CD player GPS receiver enough? Part # 9294210
Or do I need to add an antenna and other parts as well? It has a regular screen w back up camera. Thx for the help |

Changed oil/filter. Yes, I still do my own oil service. I'm getting old and set in my ways, I just like to know it's done 'right'...
Filled with Castrol 0w40 'Euro blend'- I don't generally frequent Walmart but geez, at $24 for a 5 quart jug of oil that's a nice deal. |

I just crawl under the X3 the way it sits on the driveway, no jacking, no nonsense lol it's quicker to fill up too as it doesn't require 7 quarts as the N55 (N20 only requires 5.3 quarts) |

I am getting old, was driving E39's for too many years...I put the X3 on my ramps, never occurred to me to just crawl under the front end, ugh!
I've got the N52...I'm into 7 quarts- 3 jugs will hopefully get me 2 changes. |

Switched out of our 20" Style 311 summer wheels yesterday and back to factory 18s with Pirelli Winter Carving snow tires.
Instantly noticed the change - now much lighter but less planted (roll, understeer, and light rear end) Then took a wheel brush, wheel cleaner, and a pressure washer to clean these .. they look pleasant again. Will need new summer tires next year (<5/32nds rear, <6/32nds front) and I'd like to try out one of those generic ceramic coatings on the wheels. |
