Thanks for posting. I'm still not as convinced about the look as I hoped to be. Too subtle for an M.

Thanks for sharing P4NDAM4. First time I've seen an X3M in the wild without the rails, so that's an interesting perspective. Still not sure the reasoning behind leaving the roof rail bases in black rather than the paint color as they did with the X4M, though? Leaving the black rail sub-stripes looks reminiscent of early years inexpensive imports IMO. Why allow it to match in the X4M and not the X3M? Granted this is a pre-production vehicle but all images to date seem to suggest that is the theme they're going to follow with the X3M.

I really want to like this vehicle, but it doesn't look at all unlike the seemingly hundreds of X3s I see every day. Just fatter tires and lowered suspension. I'm REALLY tempted to get the Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Arguably better looks, incredible performance, aggressive pricing, and not likely to pass myself on the street countless times a day.

You mean just barely fatter tires.
And I agree, it isn't aggressive enough at all, but I bet it's a blast to drive. I'm in no rush to unload my X5M for it. Plus there are stronger rumors of the RS6 Avant's return, but I'm not holding my breath.

While appreciated, these are pretty terrible pics of a preproduction car and I'm not making any conclusions about looks or driving until i get my hands on one in person.

I would take the Jaguar F Pace SVR over the Alfa
although not too happy about that stupid gray colored trim on the outside, they should have gone body color or black.

Awesome although they need to show it with the rear privacy glass. Something about the fishbowl look just cheapens the whole appearance. Exhaust at 3:40 must be valves open and sounds really good to me.

Will also spend significantly more time in service.

Why didn't you open the doors and get some interior shots? Maybe pop the hood and see what's lurking under there.

I honestly like the looks of the X3 M40i better.

Founding partner of my company who is a huge porschephile just traded in his 2 year old Macan Turbo for a Jaguar F Pace SVR and says it runs circles around the Macan and has way more theater. At the $80-90K price point that'd be my choice.

The RS6 avant is a go. I am a ///M guy but I had the last RS6 sold here and seriously thinking of getting the Avant. The S6 Avant is also rumored to be sold here. BMW needs to make it more aggressive, seems they focus on the X5/X6 ///M and M5/M8 and not as much with the 3 and 4. MB makes even their stupid GLC43 look significantly more special than the plebeian GLC300.

Car looks and sounds good,
Not a fan of the wheels,
Don't like the way they're throwing
"Competition" on the x series too
Why can't just being an M be enough for
A crossover suv?
